Play your way and earn points
With Google Play Points, you’ll earn points on everything you buy with Google Play, including in-app items, movies, books, subscriptions and more. You can also earn Play Points by downloading featured free apps and games. Weekly points events can boost your earning rate on movies, books, and select games.

Google Play Points has four levels, from Bronze to Platinum. Your level depends on how many points you’ve collected, and higher levels have perks like weekly prizes.

Redeem your Play Points how you’d like
We’re partnering with developers of some of the top apps and games on Google Play so that you can redeem points for special in-app items like characters, gems and more. You can also use Play Points for Google Play Credit and rent an award-winning movie or buy a best-selling audiobook.

    Sounds dumb and sounds like Google Play Rewards will disappear soon to be replaced by a Points system.

      i wonder if its extra?
      sounds like u get points for buying things, downloading things, playing games (like tapjoy, u get freebies in games by completing stuff)

        Seems strange to apply an achievement point type system to a store though.
        For a store, if the points aren't a "currency" system, what's the point?
        I feel the same about Microsoft points…. who cares?

          prolly tapping into a rewards market, i play a few games and we have a rewards system (tapjoy) which is terrible but sometimes works, get coins in game for laying another game, instead of those guys getting money, google buts them out

          hopefully cause i get heaps of reward surveys

    100 points per $1 to buy Google Play credit. Meh.

    assume this is from when I bought the pixel? Probably not interested at all, unless can use those points for movies or Google One sub, not if have to start earning them.
