Thermomix Alternative - Suggestions

Hi,

I am hoping to get some suggestions to replace a Thermomix.

We have one(not really used by me), but its nearing its end it seems. I wasn't keen on the cost in the first place, so hoping to find an alternate option for this one.
What it will be mainly used for:
- Dough
- Milling Oats etc to flour
- Crushing peanuts/almonds into butter
- Sauces, soups, stocks.

We do not cook any meat in it. The only real cooking would be risotto, that i can think of.

The latest Thermomix has stuff we dimply do not need, wifi connection, touch screen and then theirs the cost.

If you can suggest anything suitable that you have used, be great to hear.

Cheers

  • If you're selling your old Thermomix please let me know. Regarding alternatives, I've actually heard very positive things about the cheap ALDI knock off.

  • Have a look at kenwood kcook multi from target for $499, also available at the good guys for $599.

    • Have you used this one?

  • In what way is it nearing it's end?

I would have thought unless it is the motor that has died, you could pretty much replace whatever needs replacing?

    • Only recently replaced the blade, which was i think about 130 in its own..to me such high price for what it is.
The scales keep failing to work. Not sure what else, just going from what I get told.

      • For the blade to be replaced you must do a fair bit with it, if the $130 blade lasted a fair bit might be worth eeking out whatever remaining life you can from it?

If it is just the scales then a cheap digital set might get you more time out of that really expensive device..

        • ideally, i dont want to replace it, but wife not happy it doest work as it should. Blade came apart, as in the 4 blades are 2 pieces together. Pretty ordinary but in my view. It would get used a couple times a week at most.
yea we have scales, may have be an option, pending replacement options costs.

  • I've got optimum 9400, very similar to Vitamix but half the cost just Google

    • Cheers, I can't see that I mills. Do you do any milling?

  • We have one 11 years old still going great, used multiple times a day.

  • Tefal Cuisine companion

    • That's $1000-

    • struggling to find it online.
on the images, it looks like the blade is part plastic? is that right?

      • there are a few people selling in FB groups

I am not selling mine - but i have a spare bowl to sell :)

both the chopping and dough blades are metal. whipping and one more blade is plastic , though pretty strong.
