Amazon Maximum Purchase Quantity Limit, Is There a Work Around?

Amazon has a purchase limit quantity of x1 on a product I want x2 of and provides the following message when trying to raise the quantity:

"Sorry, this item is sold in limited quantities. We changed your quantity to the maximum possible."

Is there a way to get passed this limit? I have read briefly that using a family members account to acquire quantities passed a limit can result in both accounts being closed and any subsequent newly created accounts closed.

I want to know:
1. Are quantity limitations time bound, ie buy 1 now, wait 2 weeks and buy again (if available)?
2. Possibility of account closure for using another account to purchase on my behalf?
3. Can i just buy a second copy of the item immediately following purchasing the first copy of the item?

Just order another one soon as previous one has dispatched. You're overthinking it.

    • I had hoped but honestly wasn't sure that I could do that… I had feared (and hence this post) that i would be entirely limited to just 1. I am definitely overthinking this, but i just have no use for just a quantity of 1. Thanks for your reassurance.

      • I just do 2 orders, unless there is items it locks a second order for but I've never come across that. What item?

        • Amazon definitely enforce some purchase limits via the use of mandatory cooldown periods.

Large packs of toilet paper, etc is/was a common one I've seen posted about around here.

That doesn't work, at least in some cases. I ordered one product that I wanted 6 of but was only allowed 3. Even weeks later I couldn't order more. The only products I've found this on are sold by a particular Amazon division that I can't recall the name of right now, Amazon Commercial Services perhaps?

just ask your wife open an account to buy more or use your wife's account?

if you are not married, you can use your imagination wife's account

  • Maybe easier to ask a friend to buy one for you?

  • Do you have a friend nearby who could order for you?

  • new accountssssss

  • As someone else has mentioned just wait until your first order has been despatched, sometimes you may even need to wait a few days after that before you can order again. I would resist opening multiple accounts to the same address as Amazon do have some checks in its system to prevent this, or should I say punish later.

  • Cool down time limit on delivery address.

  • Just stumbled across your post now.
Have you tried making a second order and it failed?
In my experience, I had this in January, and I wanted 2 items.
So all I did was place a second order like all of 2 minutes later (after going through the cashback steps)
The system allowed me to place the second order.
    I received both items.
In fact, I saw the items were cheaper last week, so I did it again (the Amazon system is showing both as valid, and I'm expecting to receive them)

    • I got cold feet, and decided not to make the order via Amazon and went to another market place which conveniently was cheaper. So I can't follow up this post with my own experience I'm sorry.
