Yes, in fact it does! It was auto thumbnail.

  • I can recommend IKEA kitchens. I've had my one (metod) for a year now and it's still great. Did it all diy on weekends and after work and I think it turned out good, and that's with not much experience with carpentry and 0 experience with IKEA before.

Also useful in that if you have any problems that accepts returns without questions, even if you've opened the packaging.

    • Hi mate,
interested with this IKEA kitchen DIY.
Im not a professional or trade, but i know how to use basic power tool like drill, grinder, circular saw etc.

Will it be easy enough for people like me to assembled IKEA flat pack kitchen?

      • +1

Yes but common sense is required.

      • That's really all you need. I also used one of those bosch electric screwdrivers to save time manually screwing in the screws.

From memory the only other tool sI used was a spirit level (cheap enough from Bunnings), a stud finder, and a file for the sink tap hole, and a square to make sure everything was in line (walls/cabinets).

The Ikea kitchen cupboards are easy to install BUT be careful with getting water on them because the particleboard that they're made of swells up and ruins the surface. We installed some in our laundry and sadly have to replace eventually however our 20 yr old kitchen cupboards (not Ikea and also made of MDF) have had no water damage despite many spills over the years! The swelling/water issue is also true for a few Ikea furniture items I've bought over the years. While they're useful and attractive, the materials that they're made from lets them down over time. I'm still an Ikea fan, just pragmatic and cautious about certain things.

  • The kitchen that we’re upgrading was an ikea vintage one from circa 1991. Yes, there is chipping and dings but no swelling from water as sometimes reported (unsure how similar modern ikea is to 1991 ikea). The drawer and door hinge hardware held up incredibly well - so much that we will attempt to just reuse those parts.
