  • It looks a bit like a Bissell product.. a lower grade version??? @ $99 you might get what you pay for though?

We got a Bissell carpet cleaner and it works great (if used correctly) better than the pros. Ours was a $600 version (talked down to $430 .. hey i'm an ozbargainer!!)

Personally I would go for the more expensive version with a water heater and the upholstery cleaner extension built in. It would be money well spent when you consider what a good carpet cleaner charges. Use the Bissell shampoo, costs more but worth every cent.

  • We got the Bissell shampooer/vacuum combined though, and would advise against getting this one. It's far too heavy as a vacuum, and makes things far wetter than they need to be in shampoo mode.

We got it at Harvey Norman, as Godfreys didn't stock it (he said it was because of the above reason, but we ignored it duh!) and knew the first time we used it that we'd made a huge mistake. If we'd bought an item from Godfreys and were unhappy with it they'd have happily taken it back … from memory, I think they give 7 or 14 days satisfaction guarantee, or something along those lines.

    • are u talking about this $99 item mate?

      • No, just advising that if you eventually decide to get a Bissell that you avoid the one we have.

  • hi joannatan,I just bought one of the 3 for $99 deals from Godfreys,He demonstrated the vac in store "mine's charging"seems quite powerful,I've just used the carpet cleaner & I'm pleasantly surprised,I bought it for spot cleaning heavily trafficked areas & it's worked great, the salesman did explain that there's no power rotating brushes in this cheap one,it just means you have to push back & forth a few times till you see it's clean,If you only have a very small area to do,or your really strapped for cash it does do quite a good job,but a lot more work than a more expensive one.Hope this helps.

  • not really worth buying. for the occasional use just hire the professional ones at woolies/coles. i got one of the $99 ones at godfreys it was rusted within 12 months, it started to smell and leak. you have to have a really good vaccum before you use it because anything it picks up will clog it and the water tank is small so constantly refill. it does work great - the suction is good and i used mine several times in the first week on a house i moved into, the carpts were filthy and this one made them liveable again but the life isnt long.

i dont think it had upholstery cleaner and this is something you really need to consider when choosing a machine.

hire a machine is more convienient, you dont have to find somewhere to store it and if its just for occasional use then your probably going to save money.

    • Where can you go to hire one? You mean we can hire from Coles/Woolies? How much does it cost?

      • Yes hire at coles or woolies. I dont remember the price but I hire for 2 days which is not much more than an hour I do the rugs carpet furniture and cars.I try to find people at the same time to share.
