Is Bunnings Still Stocking Dewalt Line Trimmers?

Hi Fellow OBers,

Just wondering if anyone knows if Bunnings is still selling the Dewalt line of line trimmers? Looking back a year ago, they were, although on their website it states nothing. I also can’t go in store because of the lockdowns in melb at the moment, so I can’t ask staff or look what’s on the shelves. Also I want to go Bunnings because I’ve got a voucher there, so I want to use it, rather than purchasing elsewhere.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  • Probably not as they last more than a few days.

    • Really? What would be a better option? Ryobi?

      • He meant Dewalt is built to last, and is inferring Bunnings may be stopping stocking them so you buy an inferior product that breaks sooner and have to replace, so they make another sale.

Personally I would assume Bunnings has a more lucrative deal with their home brands (ozito etc.), and the profit margin is larger, while also not being required to price match.

My local Bunnings is still answering the phone. Probably worth a phone call. Also you might be able to go there next week!

  • Sure am, not sure why if others are getting through to them

Work at bunnings in the power gardening section, from what I understand AEG and Dewalt products aren't being sold as live items on the shelves anymore. You'll have to ask the special orders to buy one.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Do you think they will price match other stores?

      • Yea if the item numbers are the same ( exact same item) we should still price match

    • I've noticed a drop in DeWalt stuff instore and online.
      Wonder why that is…

  • Bunnings last week removed all its garden power tool range in dewalt. I noticed it straight away and asked staff. Currently I believe the items are sitting out back at each store to be returned to dewalt, so most likely no clearance on these last few items. Just another way bunnings is making more space for it's home brands ozito and ryobi and screwing over dewalt users. Bunnings is full of that stuff everywhere now. As far as the power shop tools are concerned they will continue thoughs lines.

    • I've been buying from TotalTools more and more anyway. Bunnings is okay for the little stuff, but for power tools, I go elsewhere.
