Advice Needed - Secondary Glazing and Tinting

Hoping to get some advice on those knowledgeable on secondary glazing and tinting.

I am currently looking at getting secondary glazing on front facing windows of the house. The windows are west face facing and is also facing a busy road so the aim is to reduce temperature and noise.

While I am looking at getting secondary glazing, I would also like to have the windows tinted as well. Would it be better to tint the existing windows first and then get a secondary glaze service done or would it be better to get the secondary glaze with a tint on it?

Thank you in advance.

  • It'll depend how new the windows and frames are. If you have an old house with crappy glass and frames then probably just suck up getting proper double glazing installed. That'll make the most diff against traffic noise - but pricey.

  • If the question was as simple as where should the tinting go, ideally on the most external window, which is probably going to be the existing window.
