  • is this cheaper than foxtel?

    Let's be honest here:

    . This offer's "6-month" period is still a [lock-in] contract… just shorter.

I consider the claim, that it isn't a contract, insulting of the reader's intelligence.

No it's not - you can pull out after a month - please re-read it again.

  • Wish I could cancel then re-subscribe…..

You can actually do that believe it or not - or, alternatively, ring them up and 'threaten' to cancel and 9 times out of 10 they come back to you and say that they can offer you a better deal. Has worked for a fair few OzBargainers :)

      • This could be a problem..:"New residential customers"

        • +1

After you cancel and re-apply again, you are classed as a new customer. Hope that helps :)

    • I was told by the Austar salesman (when I connected) that if I cancel and wait 30 days I would be classed as a new customer. He suggested I cancel a week before a 2 week holiday then I wouldn't even miss it!

  • Is this available in metro areas?

  • i don't think it is available in metro areas but you can always put your postcode in and see. i recently signed up to $1 a day for 6 months deal for starter and movie pack and when i spoke to them on the phone they also offered free MYstar for 3 months (usually $20 a month). Very Happy.

  • If you are in a Foxtel area, I suggest this current offer:
    http://www.foxtel.com.au/shop/get-foxtel/default.htm

    From their website:
Join FOXTEL today on our Get Started package which includes 45 of our popular channels, plus you can choose any two additional channel packages, like Movies and Sport, all for just $55* a month for 6 months.

So, $12 more, but more channels in the Foxtel package.

    • do u think i can cancel and re apply again for this?

  • you can try :)
