Sansai Remote Control with LCD AVG-987E - I Want to Buy from a Shop in Melbourne

I cant travel to Sydney either - Sydney sell a lot more gadgets/electronics than Melbourne .

Does anyone know where in Melbourne I can buy a Sansai 6 in 1 Universal Remote Control with LCD AVG-987E ?

It needs to be actual shop - Not Online please.

Sometimes the Chinese gift shops sell some unique products but can't go to every shop in Victoria to find out..

  • You could pop in to the Sansai Head Office in Keysborough…
Maybe ring before you go in for an inventory or sample-stock rummage.

    • I sent them an email more than a month ago - but you are right - I will try to ring them - I actually saw it 2 years ago in Chinese gift shop -but cant remember where ? Now I regret not having bought one back then.

      • A few thoughts for you, appreciating that you can get very attached to things you have grown accustomed to and like.

10+ years ago I bought a touchscreen Harmony universal remote available at the time, it sold for more than some of the large TV's featured in OzBargain deals do now. Smartphone remote apps and hardware options far more extensive these days, and even the cheapest of the Harmony remote controls offer good functionality. Readily available in shops.

If wanting something that doesn't require online code setup, you could go into a Jaycar store and look at a couple of the conventional learning types that they sell. Might be OK.

Better than OK suggestion and possibly sold by a market seller or two and definitely by some Australian sellers on eBay, albeit at markup on best price from China. Still as cheap as chips.
'Chunghop' remote controls. I have bought a few of these, remarkable quality and that includes button-feel. The ones bought as primary replacements also offer some direct menu/function access lacking on the original remotes. They also sit flat on a surface as opposed to being 'ergonomically designed' pieces of crap.

Sansai name certainly nicer than Chunghop, a case of swings and roundabouts there…

Random website here seems to list and illustrate most of the primary-replacement models in a block at the bottom of the page, and might be of assistance to you -

  • You just brought up an interesting subject - "Smart phone remote apps" , only problem is my TV is not a smart or Android TV - then I could have tried one of these mobile apps to use. Or even some Tv's that have Bluetooth or its own wifi. Also some very old mobile phones have infrared - before Bluetooth became so famous. My next decision is to save up for an Android TV/smart TV.
