Recommend - Kids Electric Scooter - 9yrs Old

Hi,
Hoping to get some suggestions for an electric scooter.
Age 9yrs, to last a couple of years ideally.
Budget $100 -max $150
Handle bar control preferred if possible.

These things just seem so expensive for what they are, kid wants one, so here I am.

Appreciate any suggestions

Razor Scooter Turbo A Electric - is one i found so far, around $150, but doesn't seem to have control on handle

Thanks!

    I recommend you get a non-electric scooter for a 9 year old…

You don't want to bring up a lazy kid. Or do you?

        • im not a fan of them, but its not the question.

      • Electric scooters are DANGEROUS for the rider and pedestrians

Illegal in Vic as their max speeds exceeds 10km/hr

People can run up to 45km/hr. Is running illegal?

        Call VicRoads and ask them.

      • Even Usain Bolt couldn't hit 45kmh. And he's a bit quicker than most people.

        • That's what Google says when I search. Maybe it's a downhill record or something. But still is there a law against children running that fast?

          • +2

@AustriaBargain: yeah, the laws of physics.

            • @[Deactivated]: If you google "how fast can man run" it says "45 km/h, Maximum, Running". NYT says that Bolt ran 27½ mph, which is actually only 44.256kph., almost a full three quarters less of a km than 45kph.

              • @AustriaBargain: Thanks for supporting my argument?

    Illegal in most states.

Get one and get the fine.

Come back to OzBargains and ask how you can get out of paying it.

I'm not a fan of them, kid wants one, nor will I be asking how to get out of the fine.
Looked it up and if the go over 10km then yes it's illegal.

Maybe if anyone has one that isn't illegal be great to hear.

      • non-electric ones are legal….

or wait until they are legalised here…

  • Why don’t you buy (a good) one, but say you are buying it for your kid. 😆
