Not as good as the half price deal at Coles a month ago. But in case if you ran out of these at your pantry :)

Kids weet-bix has 2/3 the protein but 1/3 the salt and 1/5 the sugar

    • Hhhmmmmm….numbers won't add-up. Does it mean it's 20% extra quantity ;-)?

  • How can this be a bargain, when normal Weet-Bix 575g is $1.90 (1/2 price) at Woolies:

At $0.90/100g, that is a huge excess over the normal Weet-Bix ($0.33/100g).

I realise the ads say it has added pea protein, but not many people would actually need that extra protein in their cereal, would they?

    • Appealing to gym goers I guess. I personally find that my stomach can take Weet-Bix Protein better. And it maintains its crunchiness when soaked in milk!

Just add protein powder to normal weetbix, works out cheaper

  • We really shouldn't buy breakfast cereal if they are not on 40%-50% off, unless you are absolutely definitely need to eat a particular breakfast item. Most of the time they are on rotation and will probably be 50% or close to that pretty soon.

Unlike Weet-Bix, Vita Brits (and Weeties) don’t have any added sugar. They do however have a little more added sodium, 395mg per 100g. It’s a little above the target I like to see in packaged foods (350mg) but not by much. Given it’s a great source of wholegrain and has no added sugar, it may be worth the compromise if you love the taste.
