[PS4] The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition - $5.49 (was $54.95) - PlayStation Store

590

Great deal for this fantastic game, especially since it includes the "Road to Gehenna” Expansion.

From the website:

Players are woven into The Talos Principle on an existential journey as a sentient artificial intelligence placed in a simulation of humanity’s greatest ruins, linked through an arcane cathedral. Guided by the ethereal voice of Elohim, players embark on a journey to discover whether machine and man are one by solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles in an artistically beautiful simulation.

This Deluxe Edition includes:
“Road to Gehenna” Expansion Content, featuring four additional episodes from the pens of Tom Jubert and Jonas Kyratzes to expand the story of self-discovery and put your puzzle-solving skills to the ultimate test.

Complex Conundrums: More than 120 immersive puzzles through the eyes of an advanced artificial intelligence construct.

Croteam Technology: Croteam’s Serious Engine 4 technology, the next advancement in the engine behind the Serious Sam series.

Enjoy!

This game is amazing. When I saw gameplay I didn't think it would be my thing but it sucked me in big time. Highly recommend to anyone, whether you're a fan of puzzle games or not.

I love the optional star puzzles where you REALLY need to think outside the box and lets not forget the Pink Floyd easter egg.

If you find Portal hard this game will not be for you.

    excellent game

Great game, definitely a steal at this price.

Another good one, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is $6.99 in the current PSN indie sale. Well worth it if you were ever a fan of stuff like Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines way back in the day.

    • Yes! I loved shadow tactics. Currently playing their new game 'desperados 3'. Just as good as shadow tactics but it's a western setting.

Yeah, I think that one is on sale, too, but nothing like the 90% off Shadow Tactics!

      Thanks! Bought Shadow Tactics.

Been waiting for the sequel since forever. Now that they're done with Serious Sam 4, it hopefully shouldn't be too much longer.

There are many great indie games on sale at the moment. Is there anything else you guys recommend? I hate having to read up reviews of every game when there are so many on sale this time. Here's what I recommend to try during these sales (some may not be for everyone so i try to offer a little explanation) :

Celeste (been waiting ages for this to be on sale. A hard but great platformer)
Gris (gorgeous music and stylish platformer)
Veronica (a must if you like Twin Peaks)
    Overcooked 2 (best with 4 players co-op)
Inside and Limbo (dark but great platformer and puzzles with a top story)
Outlast 1 & 2 (if you like horror)
Monster Boy (actually found it BETTER than Wonder Boy: The Dragons Trap)
Telling Lies (made by the same guy who did Her Story)
Layers of Fear 1 and 2 (great "walking" horror)
    Messenger (Ninja gaiden meets Metroid)
Observation (amazing scifi story reminiscent of Kubrik's 2001:A space odyssey)
Thimbleweed Park (creator of Maniac Mansion)
Steamworld dig 1 and 2 (addictive)
Flat heroes (another great 4 player coop game)
The last door (pixelated lovecraft horror)
The spectrum retreat (portal meets a great story)
    Guacamelee 1 and 2 (2 player metroidvania)
Stick it to the man (reminds me of Psychonaughts with its humour)
Simulacra (although you can get this on your phone for a more authentic experience)
Machinarium (old but still great point and click)
    Gunlord (Turrican homage)
Sword of Ditto (top down Zelda-like)
A summer with the Shiba Inu (similarities to Hatoyful Boyfriend if you like visual novels)
Crypt of the Necrodancer (great roguelike with awesome music)
Kentucky Route Zero (strange advdnture for the Twin Peaks fans)
Stickbold (dodgeball for 4 players coop)
Towerfall Ascension (crazy 4 player coop madness)
Tesla vs Lovecraft (4 player coop twin stick shooter)
Infliction (I actually enjoyed this horror. Had some genuine scares)
Slenderman the arrival (the best of the slenderman games out there in my opinion)
Vanishing of Ethan Carter (great "walking simulator" with goood atmosphere and twist)

Pretty good list. Would agree with most.

    All hail the mighty Talos!

  • FYI - this is available on Gamepass Ultimate if, like me, you own both machines but sometimes tend to run and buy stuff on sale that you might already own or have acess to on another platform….
