Solar Power Installation in Melbourne

Hi OzBargainers,

I am looking to install solar panel for my two storey home and am completely new to this.

What are the best advice in order for me to get the right product (etc what to look out for while choosing the product)? Which company would you recommend and why?

Any advice/recommendations is appreciated.

Thank you.

    I used http://glenclarkco.com.au/
    Recommended by numerous people. Happy.

    • "You go, Glen Clarkco!"

  • The bigger the roof surface, particularly North facing, the cheaper the panels you can use; but you use more of them. You, also, need to think about overshadowing effects.

I used Sunrunsolar who are based in Mt Waverley. very easy to deal with, installation happened on time with no dramas

Solarquotes.com.au is the way to go. Loads of articles so you will feel like you understand how it works and what you need. And a quotes service so you can find companies that are legit and won't disappear 6 months after your install leaving you high and dry if they have problems later.

  • If possible, have the inverter installed inside your garage. Significant heat exposure will prematurely end its life. Opt for the largest panel array (6.6kW) with a 5kW inverter.

    Don't agree to credit.

    • inverters can make a bit of noise too - so it's good to think about where to put them.
