Just had a very interesting outcome when I was talking to Amazon customer service about the price drop (I originally bought this for $149).
A couple of weeks ago, they gave me a $35 credit when the box arrived water-damaged (actually popped the tape seals, so would have been no good as a gift).
Despite that, I'd still been considering returning/repurchasing it - since I haven't been into the box yet and wanted to keep it as a potential gift down the track.
Amazon rep just credited me another $28 difference (price-drop) because it sold out online while we were discussing options. Pretty happy with getting this set for $86, even with the seals popped.
tldr; It's worth talking to them about anything you're not 100% happy with (price, condition etc) - you never know.
I've had them refund varying amounts around 35% give or take. They're good about it
I got the Beetle for free… Slight box damage. Refunded $99 despite the chat saying they would refund $67.
