So following the MLN deal the other day I took a print out of the page to some JB HIFIs. They have matched the price of the 32gb Transformer with dock! It's a fantastic price!

I've managed to get it matched at 3 stores, but I went to this one as it was the only one that could offer me new stock (the other two ended up offering me the floor model as they were out of stock!).

I've attached the docket of my purchase so hopefully you guys can go get it price matched, and maybe even better it!

    Great Price, too bad the new Terga 3 unit is arriving soon with icecream sandwhich. I managed to get the $148 32GB Touchpad like some members on ozbargain and put CM7 on it, since this deal all android tablets look overpriced.

      Yeh i know the tegra 3 is coming out and ideally I would have got that! But I'm off travelling for a month in 2 weeks and it likely wont be available before then…. thus the transformer.

      And I agree if you got the Touchpad that cheap it would be hard to look back. Gotta say though loving the transformer! Using it right now!

      its a very different ecosystem to the iPad and really depends on what you want. I personally though have had an iPad and already (after 6 hours of use) prefer the Transformer. But it really is personal preference…

    JB HIFI are selling this exact same product for $668 atm so you'll be pretty damn lucky if they only price match to the same price =p

      I wasn't meaning that JB HIFI would match the price, but rather you might be able to take it to competing stores i.e the good guys who might price match or beat it, especially with their pay less pay cash model!

      I'm waiting for the Prahran store to open so that Officeworks can call them, but I doubt Prahran will say they sold it at that price.

        It took me 1.5 hours, but success! Thanks OP. Guys, keep trying! I'm a bit reluctant to post up the receipt as the staffers seemed pretty annoyed with me already and I don't want them to get harassed even more. Is it possible for corporate to trace a sale back to the store/salesperson even if I get rid of the name and everything? I don't want someone losing their job because of this.

          Nope, Officeworks. I think the guy may have called up Prahran though (not entirely sure as they took ages and got a few staff members to have a look at it). They'll probably snap them up themselves though.

          I'd suggest just printing out the OP's receipt and showing it to Officeworks, asking them to call JB Prahran if need be. That's what I did.

          Can you please tell me which officeworks did you get if from. Beacause im standing at a OW and they want to know where it came from so they can contact the store and allow the price match.

      what a pain. I would suggest trying a few different stores before giving up though! I got the okay from 3 and made my pick from this store because they had stock that wasn't the showroom model.

      Just try saying something like your cousin or something picked it up yesterday and now you would like one. Be nice, give them a nice long sob story and generally you can sell yourself!

    Guys, as cheezi says, please upload your receipts. They're just not doing it otherwise.

    Edit: just tried again, they said a note has come down from JB head office not to match the price. They say it's 'ridiculously below cost'.

    guys I tried 2 stores in Sydney CBD ,went there and showed the receipt from JB Bondi ,but wouldn;t give it for that price.says the it was sold mistakenly.so i give up now.

    Guys, tried JB-HiFi in Cannington and Carousel (Perth), as well as OW in Vic Park. Wouldnt price match. Saying they wouldnt price match against an price match invoice…….About to give up……

      i guess not all stores will do the deal…i actually showed them the snapshot of the MLN deal and also mentioned their JBHIFI logo as the cheapest which was pretty much misleading..lol. Im happy with my device..I guess they are aware of the deal going around.

    I went to Officeworks Strathpine today and asked the guy if he could price match using a receipt. The guy said yes if the receipt looks genuine but after I showed him the receipt (on my phone from here) he went onto a computer and used shopbot to find the cheapest price and then offered the %5.

    I wonder why he made me go through all this and should have just refused to do it.

    Do you guys print the receipt on an A4 paper and take it with you?

      I had 2 JB Receipts as well as the OW receipts provided by Khoeb (which has details blocked out).

      None of JB or OW store is willing to honor it. JB said its below their costs so they don't honor it.

      OW said they will only price match if the price is on the website or on a catalog, and they don't price match a price match receipt. Wasted whole day yesterday and half a day today. Given up now.

      Its always very hard to get an price Match in Perth.

        I think it is fair to say that price matching a price matched receipt is a long shot (inception).
        I know what you feel though, I did not dedicate my day trying to get that done though and I do and I would be p…. off if I did.

        I nearly bought the 16GB version today from JB and then just decided not to (got them to price match officeworks $369 for 16GB version).

        Apparently the new one will be out next month and BestBuy has the 16GB version for $250 so I am guessing a lot of these will come to the right price.

    Hey Guys,

    I ended up getting one at $350 price matched at Officeworks in Ringwood. It was really hard to get it at that price as I've called several JB Hifi's and Officeworks and they basically said NO sorry can't do it at that price as cost price is $600…. So I've managed to convince a staff at Officeworks for that price :)

      How on earth did you do that? And that's less than the MLN deal. I've tried several JB stores where they've said that the receipts were illegitimate or some bull and that they don't allow receipt print-outs anyway.
