Use it or lose it. It is locked to your ISP so it cannot be used by anyone else. Only retail units are free to roam.

Keep it as you'll need to send it back if you cancel your Optus accounts
What can I do with it?
As Agarwal says above, you don't own this box. its only 'rented' from Optus. So once you cancel your Optus account your 'free' rented Fetch box will need to be returned. If not they will charge you.
If you don't want it, put it in the cupboard or see if you can get it returned now but don't give it away or sell it.
Return it and have $5 PM deducted off your account. That's what I did.
