Been looking for a 26cm French made cast iron dutch oven for a while now.
Weighed up Le Creuset and Staub. Both have many positive reviews.

Just grabbed this Staub one as the price is great in comparison to other sellers (Peters, Myer, DJ’s, Everten, etc).

Didn’t want the steamer, but it was cheaper than going without.

Other colours are more expensive (classic Amazon weird pricing system). I also liked the Cherry Red.

  • I've bought a 28cm which I found too big but the built quality is excellent but you won't regret it, would consider a 24 cm for everyday use, there is no comparison to the cheap ones but you have to have the real thing in hand to appreciate it.

    • I was tossing up between the 24cm and the 26cm. I currently own an Aldi 24cm one, but its on the smaller side, especially for baking bread. The quality is also terrible (despite the cheap price). I’m hoping the 26cm hits the sweet spot. Also very excited for a quality product!

      • I bought a cheap Aldi cast iron French pan and the inside already chipped at several places with using it under 10 times, yes I only use silicon utensils too, the built quality is simply no comparison to Staub, learnt that buy once better than buy many (rubbish that is ! ) :)

  • I coincidentally bought the 28cm and for my flatmate and I it works great - haven't found it to be cumbersome. We use it weekly as we meal prep so YMMV.

  • Do you open the can of food first, or do you just put the whole can in to it cook?
