Refurb or Not? Old Bluetooth History on ‘New’ Smart Speaker

I bought a new JBL smart speaker from Catch recently and noticed there’s history Bluetooth connections One connection for a Samsung Galaxy s7 phone, and 2 connections of “CSR audio dongle”, neither mine.

The connections are dated March 2019. I don’t think the speaker was released until later that year.

It wasn’t sold as a refurb and there were no obvious signs in packaging or setup that it is so I’m wondering what the likely explanation is.

Factory testing or refurb sold as new?

  • Probabably QA

    • That’s what i figured, but thought it would be reset/wiped afterwards.

I haven’t noticed on other BT devices but most don’t allow you to see a history of connections so you’d never know.
