  • Good find, thanks. Might be a good time to replace my 20+ year old unit.

    • Electric tooth brush was a thing 20+ years ago??

  • Do more expensive electric toothbrushes actually clean your teeth better?

    • more power, more modes e.g regular/daily clean, sensitive, whitening.

    • If you have bad teeth and gums, dentist would suggest you put tooth mousse on before bed or something similar, rather then a ultra expensive one like this, as a model like 500 works fine.

No, but I believe from 2000 and up they come with lithium ion batteries, which means you don't lose power as with older types where it would slow down as the battery is depleted, and the rest is just more modes.

I had one of those nikel cadmium and just replaced the battery with one of my eneloops (wonder where I got it from). It's now been 3 years since the replacement; still going strong.

The only thing that matters is oscillations per minute and type of battery unless you want all the fancy features. So just find the cheapest model that offers the high end of oscillations/min.

      • Interesting. What model would you recommend? I have no idea what to get…

I have the 9000 and my wife has the 2000. They are pretty much the same except mine has 6 extra modes I don't use and a very shitty Bluetooth gimmick. Oh and mine remembers to use sensitive mode where she has to toggle it every time.

@mstrelan: 2000 models and up have lithium batteries
7000 models and up have a higher rotation speed

Rest of the differences are the modes, which only change the speed, and the app

I have the 9000 and found the app and motion tracking to be useless - it uses your phone camera to track the part of your mouth you are brushing but is incredibly inaccurate

        • CHEEPEST.

      • This is also what my dentist told me.
Also told me that the vibrating types similar to the phillips etc are pretty useless compared to the rotating ones like this oral b.

  • Thank you OP. Good price. Bought two as Christmas presents.

  • I paid $30 for mine (Cheap Braun) 5 years ago and did DIY replacement of battery with eneloop. Still fine.

  • Thanks OP

  • We had this for about 2 years and it is a good toothbrush. The travel case is excellent and it doubles as charging. The only downside with this model is the battery life. Using it 4 times a day (shared with my missus), the battery don’t last more than 4 days. But charging time is quick for an electric toothbrush (around 4 hours). Unfortunately it died. The indicators no longer work and I can’t tell how much battery it has. Bluetooth died with it too. It can still change modes and it does work though.

  • Thanks OP.

    Bought White and Purple.
    Surely RRP is a joke.
