Xiaomi Dreame V9 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Review

Thought I'd give a quick review of the Vacuum after a few weeks of use.

I have brief usage with a Dyson V8 but this will mostly be compared to a Dyson V6 Fluffy and a DC29.

Bought from Gearbite and their service was flawless - no complaints there.

The V9 leaves my floors feeling as clean as my Dyson DC29 leaves it. The V9 is miles better than the V6 Fluffy. Admittedly, the V6 is 5 years old and only works on low mode, but the V9 is quieter on it's max mode than the Dyson is on its low setting.

If you have carpets or a rug, the carpet head is a must. I would regularly vacuum the two low pile rugs we have with the DC29 but the carpet head on the V9 managed to disturb and remove way more dust. This was tested with two empty bins. Hugely impressed.

Build quality is excellent and if you manage to get this for the $259 I paid, it's such a good deal as it comes with HEPA filtration.

I only have three minor downsides to mention
* Emptying the bin is a bit inconvenient as you have to reach in and often untangle the hairs or dust accumulated around the cyclone.
* I don't mind that it doesn't have a trigger lock, but repeatedly pressing the trigger sometimes stops the powered heads from rotating
* Doesn't do well with long hair - doesn't appear to be any anti-tangle design

Otherwise, hugely recommend this - it's as good as the $800 Dyson V8 and is way better value as it comes with more attachments.

  • Agree with most of that…moved from DC58 Animal. Overall I reckon they are both pretty similar.

    My observations/comparisons:

    • it feels heavier or slightly more cumbersome to move around (Dyson seemed to have more range of motion), or maybe less balanced? Could just be imagining it
    • The trigger feels less comfortable to hold (both are not comfortable though)
    • the carpet head doesn't pick up much near walls, I'm guessing the Dreame's casing has thicker "borders"
    • the white gets dirty within the first uses (just cosmetic, so not a big issue)
  • I have the dreame 11 and I do agree with the hairs. Doesn't pick up much of them also has issues getting most of the dust out from the corners despite changing the attachment

  • Emptying the bin is a bit inconvenient as you have to reach in and often untangle the hairs or dust accumulated around the cyclone.

The cyclone can be detached and taken out from the housing by rotating it.

Thanks for sharing. Totally agreed with the positive reed back. I love my dreame.

    • Yep, you can use the connecting end of the brush attachment as a kind of screw driver to remove it.

      • Cool. Didn't know that one. Will try it the next time I need to remove the cyclone for cleaning. Mine is usually screwed not to tight anyway and can easily be unscrewed by hand.
