Anyone else did not expect Jurassic Park: Club Cretaceous to be so full on?

Saw this on Netflix with my kids, did not expect it to have as much suspense and thriller in it.

I mean I had to turn it off for the kids because they were way too young but it definitely had me captivated and finished it on my own LOL

Anyway, this was more than I expected for a PG cartoon, a cartoon with murderous dinosaurs, jump scares and generally freaked out kids… Looking forward to season two.

Your typical Dinosaur is harmless, lives in a House and is a keen gardener…

I've just finished the season finale with my kids 5 and 7 who both loved it. Much better than I was expecting. Even had to tell the kids not to watch it without me 😀

    • yeah my kids are a bit younger, they still wanted to watch it but I think it was probably a bit much hahaha

I remember being at the cinema when the original Jurassic Park movie came out, there were kids walking out of the cinema looking like they had all the blood drained out their body, white as ghosts, some crying.

There was so much in the news at the time warning parents that it was not a kid friendly movie, but parents still took their kids to watch it, who came out looking like they were scarred for life :D

I remember clearly being so freaked out at the raptor part.

Maybe i like this cartoon so much as it's a bit nostalgic, in that there was a good bit of dinoaur chase and suspense.

      • I ducked out to pee twice in the original - once legitimately and the second time because of the raptors. Think I was 9 or 10? The original still gives me goosebumps. Will definitely have to check out Camp Cretaceous.

    • I went with a couple of mates to the premiere at my local cinema, we were all 11 at the time. We loved it, we got interviewed by the local paper on our way out and we were excited to show everyone at school when we saw our quotes in the paper the next day!

    • We went to watch it for our yr7 science excursion.. we all loved it

  • It was way more intense that I expected a children's show to be. That said I did enjoy it as an adult :P

  • I recall early episodes of the Clone Wars were infantile and so tame that parents may have let their children watch it unsupervised.

Later on there's force choking, torture, interrogating prisoners, flametroopers setting enemies on fire, etc. (In other words it got gud!) Some parents may have gotten a surprise.

I'll have to check out Club Cretaceous.
