Hey guys, after a bit of advice. Currently on a telstra mobile lease plan that has 50GB per month - currently staying in student accommodation that has no wifi so heavily relying on mobile hotspot.
Was just wondering what my best option is to get an additional 25-30GB? Telstra data pack add ons seem ridiculous.

My preferred option is to get a cheap data sim like Kogan, and then use a wifi hotspot or another phone to watch whatever educational Netflix with it :)
If your phone doesn't have a second sim slot, then buy a cheap phone and use it's hotspot feature with a separate sim card with a cheaper brand.
Alternativly ask Telstra for any upgrade options - they love to take more money so I'm sure they can bump you up to another tier
Are you in contact for the actual plan (not the mobile repayments)? If not you can change plans, they currently have a deal for 180GB for $65/mth, your mobile repayments would be added on top of this.
Does your plan have no excess data charges?
i.e speed capped at 1.5 Mbps after you use all your data?
Can you link your CIS?
No idea what these guys are like but Telsim has 60GB for $5 (first 28 days only) (uses Optus towers)
Other than that, Amaysim sims may work if Optus coverage is okay
Check out the SIM Only Mobile Plan + Prepaid Mobile Plan tags as they may contain something better that you prefer
