After 2x Gaming Headsets for The Kids

Hi, after a couple gaming headsets around $100 or just under for the kids. Nothing special, just sturdy, reliable and stand up to kids!

  1. For XboxOne but used also on laptop a bit also. I know most of them are universal these days with 3.5mm jack. Looking at Corsair HS60 or Astro A10. Anything else good for the xbone?
  2. Mainly for PC/Mac. Looking at Logitech G322 or the Corsair HS60 also?

Anyone seen some good deals going around at present for any of these or recommend any int he similar $$$ price? Or do I wait Black Friday sales?

Thanks

On the point of durability, you should look for detachable cords (and mics, if not retractable, if they intend to use that frequently) to minimise a common point of failure. Another consideration is opting to avoid hinges and adjustable arms where possible. More and more headsets are coming out with a singular solid headband with an automatically fitting strap underneath (see the Pulse 3D by Sony and Arctis 7 by steelseries as a couple examples of this design - I acknowledge they’re out of the price range, but I’m not sure what else has this design).

If you have these features, then they’ll be more or less bulletproof for kids. Sorry I’m not aware of which specific product best suits that, though.

edit: had a quick browse and found this just outside your price range. Ticks the durability boxes and would have excellent sound and reliability due to being steelseries

    • Thanks, did look at the steelseries and reviews are very good, probably just a bit of a stretch for what they use them for.
But you never know with Black Friday sales coming up, they may drop in price.
      Good points on durability.

      Cheers

don't waste your money. they'll break it. i just ended buying these for them. cheap in ears that come with a 2 year warranty. no complaints about problems hearing their friends or sound quality.
if you must get "gaming" headphones, i'd recommend koss comes with a lifetime warranty so you can always return them.

    • Thanks, yeah we use in-ear ones but though we could upgrade and get them something a bit more gamer looking.
I was probably a bit tough on my kids, they are not that rough on gear, more just in case.
Might look at the Koss, never heard of them.

My 12 year old swears by these

HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch (HX-HSCS-BK/NA) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01L2ZRYVE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_f…

They have gone on special for cheaper from memory

By youngest likes using the cheap $20 no name ones

I use razer krakens which are a bit too big for my kids

    • Thanks for that. Still look at the HyperX Cloud Stingers also.

  • Black Friday sales do you discount headsets heavily generally?
