Record mailer

Hi, I've recently sold some record via ebay. Want to send them now.

But my only option I know of is in pizza boxes. Help.

if you cut them into quarters they should fit into a smaller envelope. or if you heat them and roll the vinyl perhaps you can slide them into a poster tube.

    ROFLMAO!!!!

Well you do have a legitimate concern there hahahahahaha…

How and what exactly did you state on ebay as postage? If the buyer is paying for pizza boxes, I say give them Pizza boxes LOL!!!

  • For single records, just cut flat sheets of cardboard, rather than using boxes.

Sandwich the LP in between the cardboard, then packing tape to seal all 3 edges. Make sure to run the cardboard one way on the bottom, and at 90 degrees on the top, so that the sandwich resists bending in both directions.

If you want to do it "properly", make it (say) 15mm wider on all 4 sides, then cut a 15mm wide strip of cardboard that goes around the LP to protect the edges. So, the LP sits inside a kind of "pocket".

With a stanley knife and a metal ruler, these are quick to make.

Far better than cardboard is Corflute, which is the corrogated plastic sheet that real estate agents use for signs. You can scam this for free from the Real Estate agents, since they have no use for it once the house sells. For really valuable items, I use 3mm thick MDF in the same way. You get it in large 2.4 x 1.2m sheets from Bunnings.
