  • I've been using the Bowdens nano wash….but was interested in using an Autoglym product….what would be the best wash product for Autoglym?

    • Why go backwards?

I got given a Autoglym kit to try out (wash, polishes etc).

Bowdens is the superior product in every way.

      • +1

What makes it so good? Its the only one I've used but the American brands have way more reviews + comparisons.

        • Bowden's don't release crap to the market - some products are over 2 years in development before they make it to the shelves. They are an Australian product for Australian conditions. No I'm not affiliated, I just love their products (and sense of humour). The Autoglym was free - I tried it and promptly threw it at the back of the shelf. I'd rather spend $ than use it. Need to just throw it out but no doubt some bugger at tip will scab it and curse me for tossing it.

          • @slimdealin: Interesting. Very interesting.
I just always assumed Autoglym was better…but we know how that saying goes

            • @iNeed2Pee: Hahaha indeed.

            • @iNeed2Pee: For interior cleaning Autoglym is good, but for exterior I don't think it is anything special.

          • @slimdealin: You still haven't actually provided the reason beyond marketing and country of origin. Why is the Autoglym crap?

            • @onlinepred: The body wash shampoo/conditioner - smelt great but needed excessive amounts to get it nice and sudsy/foamy. I use snow job or gold class

The super resin polish didn't do the job it says it does on the bottle. Multiple applications of it before I gave up. Bowden's paint cleanse and restore did it in a single pass with stuff all effort. So definitely the product.

Can even remember what the 3rd bottle is and can be stuffed going to dig it off the shelf.

        • Bowdens orange cleaner was the only thing that removed sunscreen stains. And gave a good clean to surfaces.

Their stuff is is well worth the cash.

The big towel is great, is also suitable for camping.

    • Bowden products are PH neutral so they won't harm existing quoting such as ceramic etc.

      • Also for rag tops, great stuff!

  • +3

I bought a Bowden's Own "Big Green Sucker" microfibre drying towel. Best towel I have ever used. It can dry my entire CX-5 and still not really feel wet, with ease. Highly recommended.

So just clay it then spray it it?
    how odd

    • +2

I have rest of the stuff. These are the only two things that were missing in my list. :-)

Following is the plan of action:

      1. Wash with Soap
      2. Clay bar with quick detailer
      3. Polish
      4. Remove excess polish with Isopropyl Alcohol
      5. Apply mothers CMX as per the instructions
      • Gotcha

        Good plan.

      • +1

Be careful with the claybar, as you want to make sure the car is SPOTLESS before you use it. Otherwise you will just be scratching the paint haha ;-)

        • You're not quite sure how to use a clay bar properly are U……?

          • @matthewjw: Snow wash, hand wash, high pressure hose, big and tar remover if required, then clay bar. I just meant you mostly can't just wash and clay, you got to really wash and prepare it. Clay bar will scratch your paint if it's not prepped. This is basic stuff.

            • @onlinepred: Claying creates scratches as a biproduct. A light compound then polish with a DA will remove them easily.

  • Any recommendation for interior protectants?
