Where did that RRP of $780 come from? $65 a kg is $5 more than buying a single kg. Their subscription is $54 a kg so it's stretching the truth even if one of the blends is $65.

Granted $32.50 per kg is good but how does it compare to the other well known roasters?

I get my Little Marionette subscription for $40 delivered each month and can't imagine much would beat it.

Little marionette is probably one of the best beans in australia

      • Which blends do you like the most?

      • Haven't heard of them before.

I drink most of my coffees with milk, prefer chocolate/nutty/caramel flavours: anything you could recommend?

Its beautiful and well balanced. I normally drink a soy latte and this coffee is one of the easiest coffees to drink. Very palatable

I switch between the House and the Sanchez. A huge number of cafes in Sydney use them. Most use the Sanchez including my favourite cafe in the Inner West, Pan E Cipolla.

I would say the Sanchez suits you as it's a darker blend.

Also, the subscription doesn't include free postage but email them and ask nicely and they can give you a code for the year. The staff there are amazing as I've popped in to the roastery collect my sub a few times.

    • So for a little qualification - because these glowing comments need context especially for people outside of Sydney. St Ali is Melbourne based with free delivery, which I presume is from their own delivery vans in Melbourne metro.

Little Marionette is $40 per month for 1kg delivered if a 12 month subscription. [https://thelittlemarionette.com/shop/p/monthly-coffee-subscription](See link here). Being based in NSW be mindful to include delivery time, especially in a COVID-19 world.

So for Melbourne people who appreciate freshly roasted coffee at a cheaper price, you're probably better of at St Ali. YMMV elsewhere.

This deal seems quite good if you are in the market for a coffee machine and a years worth of coffee. Basically $324 for the Bambino Plus (RRP $499) + $390 for coffee subscription per this deal = $714

    • +2

You're stuck with the same blend for the entire year and if you haven't had it you don't know if you would like it.

      • I rang St Ali and they are happy to change coffee types and delivery addresses. Just email/call and they'll fix it up anytime you want to change.

        • i should've jumped on this before it went OOS :(

    • Little Marionette do have a Bambino Plus + 12 month coffee subscription that's $80 per month or $960 [https://thelittlemarionette.com/shop/p/breville-bambino-monthly-subscription](See link here)

St Ali with $714 and free delivery per month, a difference then of $246 cheaper or $20.5 per month.

Sorry but this isnt a bargain i got to down vote this garbage post

32.5 a month is pretty standard for monthly coffee deliveries but to say that you normal RRP is $65 a month for 1kg of coffee is plain bullshit

I agree- needed to comment to downvote :)

      • Wait! A company selling coffee… Then facemasks and hand sanitiser. No thanks.

    • There's plenty to shitcan about St Ali such as the diversification of merchandise, ''selling out'' to tourists etc. agreed. And yes there's better brews. And yes other bean brands are cheaper.

But the facts, not opinions, is that their coffee bean RRP is higher. So don't downvote a submission just because of your personal preferences. Be fair to OP, cause for those who want to buy St Ali beans it's a great deal.

The Market Lane coffee subscription is superior to this - in that it features different beans every time. This is just the same blend every time.

    • I like Market Lane, but isn't it $20/250g or $55/kg bag delivered? Whereas this is $32.50 per kilo, so quite the price difference

    • I enquired and St Ali are happy to change the coffee bean selection and delivery address. Just ring/email them.

Not a deal in comparison to what else is out there and average coffee / kg sell rates. Not to mention when those special sales come up.

    • People post deals based on that brands prices. So sure, comment away, but don't downvote OP's submission for simply stating a fact.

  • I'll beat that subscription with premium aldi beans at 50% cheaper delivered to your door :p

  • I agree with others also st ali coffee isn't that good imo, you can get coffee from coffee direct and vary it

St ali is trash. Me and another ozbargainer halfed a couple kilos and ended up throwing most of it out

    • Have to agree, one of the most overrated and overpriced coffees i've ever tried. Will not order again.

      • Each to their own. Certainly one of my favourite roasters.

    • +1

Same experience. Was similar to supermarket coffee from Coles.

    • We have their Orthodox beans at work (when we were actually at the office) and enjoyed it, but recently tried 'Wide Awake' and found it nicer.
But still don't like to be pinned down to one bean for very long at all, hence trying new ones recently and now my old fav St Ali is a distant memory.

    • People will laugh that im trashing St Ali but use coffee mio beans. I honestly can't believe how good they are for the price

  • +1

How do these compare to Aldi?

  • I get the Bay Beans 2 for 1 ozbargain special. https://www.baybeans.com.au/ozbargain.html

    I’ve tried Aldi, I don’t like it.
