Looking for a new PS4 controller and I’m wondering if those on eBay ~$50-$60 are genuine? They seem to be almost half the price of those sold in JB Hi-Fi or EB games.

If it is too good to be true, it isn't.
Genuine PS4 controllers are still more expensive than that.
Don't waste your money.
I bought a PS4 controller from Target for that price six months ago. It was in sale. So there is a chance it might genuine.

A good way to check is the PS button if it looks right, while it can definitely be faked, I do notice many times they're just left blank. I know there is a PS4 controller around that price point that looks supppeerrr genuine but isn't, I feel I don't get caught out too often but I definitely had to do a double take. I think it might say doubleshock instead of dual shock.
I remember reading reviews for $70 controller on Amazon and some were claiming they got a fake controller. I just bought one from Big W instead. I really hate returning things, it's a huge PITA that I'd easily pay at least $30 to avoid each time.
If it's eBay though, pay with PayPal and you'll get a refund. On low value items they usually let you just keep it too, but they may want their $60 fake back.
Not uncommon to be sub $50 and I'd expect them even cheaper now that they'll be a generation behind

Sometimes genuine ones go for under $60, but when this happens it's usually available in most outlets. I haven't seen this price in a while. I would wait until an official sale.
Given ebay has their markup, it wont be real.
If it was from amazon or a big store, and a lightning deal, then yeah.
Amazon had them for 48 on Prime day, decent odds for another sale on Black Friday I'd assume.
China make fake copies of ps4 controllers. They are illegal counterfeits
Brand new? It's unlikely. Unless you manage to find one with an open box or similar.
