Apple Watch w/ Gift Cards, Black Friday at JB?

Hi all,

Am looking to purchase an Apple Watch Series 6 40mm Bluetooth (RRP $599). Am planning on going to Coles and grabbing a few of these:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/582451 - $15% off The Him/Her Gift Cards at Coles
And using 6 of them to purchase the watch for what is essentially $509.15 (15% off) and asking for a deal if they can do one…
I've seen on here:
https://imgur.com/a/KrHsXFe - JB's catalogue from Wednesday 25th Nov to Tuesday 1st Dec.

  • Am I right to assume the catalogue is their entire 'catalogue' of Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals considering the dates?
  • Would JB Hi-Fi allow me to use more than one The Him/Her Gift card in the one transaction?
  • Would you do anything differently (aside from not get an apple watch lol [this is for my partner])

Cheers!

  • From my reading of previous posts, JB only allows up to 5 gift cards to be used in the one transactions.

I am not sure if this means 5 gift cards + another method (eg cash or credit to complete the balance) or 5 total methods of payment.

    • I have tried to used 12 gift cards online for a mobile phone and it worked.

      • 12 ? I thought max 5 for online ?
If you can do 12 with online purchase, doing 12 gc with instore purchase would be easy then ?

        • Yes I used 12 online. Haven't tried instore but I guess it should be OK.

  • Just buy a $500 jb GC using them cards.

  • Was there any T&C that said Apple stuff aren't discounted?

Doesn't seem to be any limitations from the giftcards provider. As far as jbhifi would be concerned it's just a giftcard payment type, doubt they know or care how the giftcards were aquired.

      • It was other places, can't remember which one, such as myer or David jones that excluded apple products and etc from discounts or etc…

        • I guess this is a weird one where the discount is from a 3rd party and not the retailer selling the apple products.

Although I am worried it will get noticed when a flood of people are buying apple products with the same type of gift cards.

          • @CheapandUsed: Yep, you just ozbargained this deal :p

          • @CheapandUsed: Don’t matter, jb are getting the full price, it’s coles loss for discounting the gift cards.
