Optus One Scam?

Just got the Optus one discounted plan for $65 a month.
Seemed good, 500gb data, one on one support 24/7.

Just found out there’s a different support team for the $65 plan vs the original $120 plan.

The $65 plan only get messaging support M-F and they’ve lost the dedicated line.

Isn’t this false advertising from Optus? No where on the website or the plan detail does it mention that.
Thoughts?

  • Standard Optus save money by the sounds of it by using the generic support contact and as such the support you get is not very good based on my experience if there is a technical issue that is not in the standard scripts they use.

How often do you need tech support?!

    • That's right - OP, you came to OzB with your question…

  • Can't they give it for $30 without one on one support?

  • Apparently it is an issue. When I mentioned this on the messaging app (dedicated optus one agent) she said it should definitely go to Optus one call centre

    • When I spoke to Optus one the other day she said there’ll be a new team set up for specifically the $65 plan!

      • I am currently in contact via email to a couple of Optus One staff. The Optus one number at the bottom of their email is 1 digit different to the one on the app.

So yes they have made a change it seems.

Perhaps they thought they would cope but there is too puch demand?!

I didn't take up this plan for the 500gb. I took it so that I don't have to deal with crap customer service….

        • Yep, I didn’t care too much about the data more about the one on one customer service. Argh so annoying

And how does it change anything to you? What do you need support for? You are getting what you are paying for so that's it. Having different support is not relevant lol.
