IP68 Phones under $300 Any Recommendations?

My Samsung S5 is beginning to have issues. I am reluctant to pay much over $300 and to buy second hand so a Samsung phone is not justifiable. My main technical desire is IP68 or better water resistance as I seem to have a nack for getting the phone wet. I am running across brands I have never even heard of such as Doogee, Ulephone, Oukitel, Blackview and Konga. I am half convinced I am going to run in a Ohmygod brand phone because OMG these brand names are so bad but if it does the job then I can accept a derpy name.

I do use the phone for audible audio books as well so a headphone jack would also be nice.

So does anyone have any experience with these brands positive or negative? Can you recommend a phone? Or recommend a phone not to get?

Comments

  • Blackview are apparently alright, they do phones with thermal sensors in them as well.

  • Those manufacturers mainly target people working in mining or pipeline facility which usually require all electronics to be intrinsically safe.
Only the basics need to work, e.g. phone, text, internet, camera. It has similar lifetime as mining vehicles (per project). Any future update/support is questionable but it works.

  • I have the Blackview BV9500 Plus - recommended but it's just really heavy due to the large battery on it. Had
to make sure all the Network bands were available on it.

  • Waterproof case?
We have Hauwei P30 and a water proof case.
The phone has been in the pool underwater, and dropped out of raised 4WD numerous times.
    Nothing happened in both scenarios.
