Antlion Audio Modmics from $59 + Delivery @ PCCG

70

Some decent prices for all three of Antlion's current ModMic offerings at PC Case Gear.
Great for turning an existing pair of headphones into a gaming headset.
I personally own the Uni and have been very happy with the quality, much better than any integrated gaming headset mic I've used in the past.

ModMic Uni $59 + delivery (was $89).
ModMic USB $99 + delivery (was $139).
ModMic Wireless $149 + delivery (was $200) .

The $15 postage to Sydney kinda spoils the deal for me.

  • The multiple reports of these breaking easily turned me off modmics. The$20 boya one (delivered) is a much better deal for something like this

    • Gotta link to the boya?

      • I think it's this one

        • that's it. even cheaper on aliexpress if you want to gamble on the shipping

      • I looked at the Boya ones, they are meant to sound great.

But they have a 6m cable…. so i wouldn't get one for gaming unless you want to wrap up a giant cable too.

    • interesting, not too keen that it requires a battery though

      • i think it comes with a battery and lasts 600 hours or something.

    • The modmic wireless is the best of the crew. aptx LL. No cables, just good fast stereo quality

  • Another good alternative is the V-Moda BoomPro for $50 delivered (Prime) or if you're willing to chance it, $22 delivered from AliExpress here.

AliExpress takes PayPal now so there's a bit more protection. I ordered it from them 2 weeks ago and it said it left China approx. 3 days after I ordered it but radio silence since then. Keep in mind the estimated delivery is almost always wrong unless you choose a reputable shipping agent like DHL which will cost more than the product itself. My previous orders took about 2.5 months to arrive (in April, peak covid)

Edit: Just realised ePacket shipping on AliExpress costs roughly $1USD more. I'd go for that as it's probably faster and has tracking.

    • Is this really an alternative? seems like the microphone has a short lead to plug straight into a headset rather than the Antlion which is a long extension to attach to normal headphones. Or am I missing something?

      • Yep you're absolutely right. A lot of people actually prefer this as it means less cables to manage. Not as versatile as the Modmic as it does require headphones with a detachable 3.5mm cable.
