If you have a spare old smartphone or tablet lying around, I'd really recommend looking in to touch portal.
All the same features via a free app (pro version is only $12.99 USD to unlock additional features)
It won't matter to everyone, but these things have the advantage of having tactile buttons. This was important to me as I use the mini version of the stream deck on my sim racing rig.
You can use a keyboard as well, but it's a lot of setup and you lose the per key display functionality.
I've been waiting for this, even with the back order wait.
Anyone with the XL care to comment on the practicality of it over the medium size?
