Shopping around fridges and came across some decent prices on Hitachi French door fridges. Claimed 5 year warranty (similar to Mitsubishi).
Anyone purchased a Hitachi fridge in the last few years? Would you recommend them?
Considering the Hitachi 511L Compact Fench Door model
We bought a Hitachi fridge not quite a year ago. Only 480L but it was a noticeable difference in electricity bills from our similar sized older one (that was bought in 1991 and Australian made).
Plus
-looks great
-Temp holds evenly across most shelves
-runs quiet
Cons
-they are really tall and may not fit in many kitchens
-the plastic door rails feel flimsy
-the one drawer fruit and veg is a pain to slide
My wife tells me hers vibrates like crazy

Looks like only Bing Lee and Domayne seem to deal with Hitachi fridges. No chance of physically looking at one.

Ive had a mitsubishi fridge for 12 years now, also came with 5 years warranty, i would say hitachi is of similar quality.
