Which One Is Better Smart Watch

Looking to buy a Smart Watch and came across Garmin Vivoactive 3 Sports Watch and Samsung Galaxy 46mm Bluetooth.

In addition to fitness tracking, looking for something which has easy to use call and text message notifications.

Which one is better? Any other watch to consider within the same price?

I am using Xiaomi Mi 3 5g version, so I am hoping it will be easy to configure watch with the phone.

  • I have the vivoactive 3. I got it about a year ago and I love it.

I’ve never used the text integration because it drains the battery quicker, also I already have a bad relationship with my phone so having it all on my wrist would be worse haha.

That being said, it only allows you to respond to texts if you use android.

I have a Amazfit bip S bought around 4 weeks ago and I love it. Its always on and plenty of watch-faces to choose. You can get applications from googlePlay ($3 , $5) which is far better than the official (Health features, VoIP calls etc).

Using for the last 4 weeks and the remaining battery now is around 40%

Not sure if this fits your requirements as you cant make call or reply to the Text. No NFC either. Both of these are not at all needed for me. My main requirements were - AlwaysOn and long battery life.

  • I got an Amazfit T-Rex, and it’s pretty good. Half decent battery life for a smart watch. Worked better than my old Bip which was also great. The T Rex cost about $175 to $200 depending where you get it from.

I have a RedMi Note 9S and it all works fine. Setup was easy enough and plenty of features to tweak and play with. Does all the standard stuff that smart watches do these days.

If you want a smart watch get the Samsung, if your priority is fitness tracking get the Garmin. I've got a Galaxy Watch 46mm and the fitness tracking sucks compared to my Fitbit, Garmin and Polar watches.

    • I think you can take take calls with Samsung and not with Garmin - Correct?

      • Yep, that's correct.

  • I just got the mi band 5 a few weeks ago and am really enjoying it as my first fitness band. Its much cheaper than the ones mentioned above and gives you sms, email and phone notifications, you can reject the call and view messages clearly which is my main purpose.
Tracks heart rate and other fitness functions but i've only been using the step counter which is fine.

    • Its much cheaper than the ones mentioned above

      It doesn't have inbuilt GPS.

  • As mentioned before, perhaps consider an Amazfit watch - Bip, Stratos, T-Rex or GTS.

  • If you are wanting a smart watch samsung is better .
Dont think the garmin has music either

  • I have a Huawei GT2 watch and you can answer phone calls and listen to music independent of your phone. Fitness tracking is alright, but i haven't gone too in depth with all the different sport presets etc. It also tracks heart rates and blood oxygen levels. and last but not least usually 10-14 days of battery life per charge.
