JBL 9.1 Soundbar (5.1.4 System) $1195 at Harvey Norman

170

Harvey Norman are doing a sale on the JBL 9.1 Bar which is actually a 5.1.4 Atmos system. I think overall its a pretty good value system at this price. Not so sure on the sounds quality though - but its rated fairly well.

The big winner for me is that I don't have powerpoints at the back of the room so more traditional options like the Samsung 9.1.4 systems would incur the additional cost of installing a power point.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2020

  • Dammit. Just when I decided to not buy anymore this week.

  • Dammit.

Can someone hide this deal from me?

  • This is a great set. My wife approved this purchase on release because of the true wireless speakers.

Loads of issues was fixed in firmware since then as well.

Im very happy with this set, do it!

    • Im tossing up between this and the Sonos ARC - I can get an arc through unidays for similar price and then see how I go and upgrade to the sub at a later point if I want to.

Yeh seen a few issues. I think the ARC will be a better all round product for both movies and every day watching TV - but obviously much more expensive.

  • From what I read the Kilpsch Fives give soundbars a run for their money with movies (obviously not in Atmos) and then blow them away with music so I'm holding out for a deal on those. I might be holding on forever though.

  • This is the soundbar I've been eyeing. But it has been cheaper in the past.

JBL website lists back order till June next year so if you’re eyeing it I’d grab at this price if you want it anytime soon.

    • How much cheaper?

      • $70 cheaper ($1125) with the old JBLTOYOTA promo code on the JBL online store.

      • It was $1,125 on the JBL website and I had bought it. But only found out delivery June 2021 as there's no stock. So went into HN and ordered one via the Latitude Interest Free card getting $50 gift card. So yeh not too far off and for the $25, I'd rather get the soundbar tomorrow! Will ask JBL for refund tomorrow. Btw stock is very limited. The HN flagship store at Auburn said less than 10 pieces remaining as of like an hour ago.

Thanks mate, took the plunge and ordered this after reading your comment about stock levels.

I only recently have been looking at soundbars and this one jumped out at me more than most others. I was initially disappointed JB didn't have this on sale but am glad HN did.

  • Damn it. Just got a Sonos Arc. Just if this was posted yesterday….

  • My husband and I heard this model and the salesman showed me the Klipsch brand and he explained Atmos is not used in a lot of movies and we wanted to opt for the quality of Sound. I saw the Fives model the other person said here and they were really nice. But I wanted a Soundbar and my husband preferred the sound of the Klipsch 600 model.

  • This model has been pulled from JB’s site, hoped to pick this or the Arc up…

  • I'm tempted but have read mixed reviews on it's quality. Anyone got one that could recommend?

If you still want to pick one up, I pulled the trigger and bought one from HN today, and there are two issues that make me want to return it until my furniture supports a better setup… My couch is against the wall and there is nothing for the rear speakers to sit on, not enough space. And the IKEA storage unit we're using as a tv stand makes the soundbar sit too high to sound good unless we put it on the floor or get a footrest or something for it to stand on. Would be happy to sell for $1150 with a receipt from HN Moore Park. Otherwise I'm going to try my luck at a return tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath for harvey norman. In terms of the audio, it sounds great — especially the bass.

  • FYI sold out at JB hifi in SA for sure. And pretty sure it’s sold out at Harvey Norman in SA as well now.

    • Harvey Norman sold except in SA except Mount Gambier.
