Samsung Q950T or Q900T with SWA-9000S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit

So I have decided to go for the Q950T soundbar but being the true OzBargainer that I am I was wondering if the Q900T with Wireless Rear Speaker Kit SWA-9000S would be the same setup as the Q950T? There might be a bit of a hassle with the extra kit but would like to know what you guys think? I could save like $200-300 here.

  • Looking at the specs, the rear speakers don't look the same.from what I can see.
Also one is 9.1.4 vs 7.1.2 so I'd say definitely a difference between the 2
What are the prices for each option?

    • I could easily save up $200-300.
Q950T is around 1500 and the Q900T is around $1000 and SWA-9000S is around $200.

Mm so $1500 vs 1200 by the time you add the speakers

I've done a bit of a look around and you can get the q950 for $1259 and free delivery from Powerland

If not comfortable buying online you could always Goto instore to another retailer for a price match.

Another option is eBay. Powerland have a store on there also for the same price. If you were lucky to be included on the targeted spend X get Y off deal like I was.

there is also $100 off that price brining it down to $1159.00(this offer ends tonight)

If you manage the $1159-1259 price it's a no brainer for the extra to get a better overall system?

    • NLooms like the Q950 is the better option then

    • So I finally got the Q950 from https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/samsung-914-ch-a… for 1259 with Zip pay. Hopefully that cashback comes soon :)

Really impressive sound and dont know why people are complaining about it. Although Samsung needs to market it properly, it doesnt support Google Assistant and looks like it works well with 2020 TVs

The SWA-9000S rear speaker kit doesn't have upfiring speakers from what I remember.

I bought a Q900T and did a bit of research on this.

    the Q950T is 9.1.4, whereas the Q900T is 7.1.2.

When you add the SWA-9000S, the Q900T does not become 7.1.4, it stays at 7.1.2 and the speakers on the bar that originally served to provide the x.x.2 will just reinforce the SWA-9000s.

Without the 9000s, the .2 on the bar emulates rear speakers by utilsing those diagonally firing speakers on the side which are designed to "bounce" sound behind you.

When you buy the 9000s kit, it gives you true rear channels but no additional channels (if that makes sense)
