Can't beat Merino Thermals in my opinion.. Icebreaker are the leaders, but be prepared to pay!

Kathmandu also have a range of Merino Thermals (middling quality), only worth looking at if on sale.

Almost undoubtedly, all of the above have Polyester Thermals too, but for Physical exercise, I reckon you want a breathing fabric.
