Oral B Triumph IQ5000 $88.99 after $50 Cashback

180

I saw in Chemist Warehouse catalog they have the "Oral B Toothbrush Triumph with Smart Guide (IQ5000)" for $138.99. I assume it can be bought instore, and it can be bought online with free shipping.

As posted a few times already on OzB, Oral B are giving $50 cashback on this toothbrush, bringing it in at $88.99 which is about the best price I've seen.

I got this toothbrush at the beginning of November when shavershop had a pricing error and can highly recommend it (at least my teeth feel more sparkly, and it encourages me to brush my teeth for 2-3 minutes morning and evening!). The Smart Guide is basically a linked LCD display which has a countdown function for how long you've been brushing, an indicator for when you're pressing too hard, and when not it use, it's a digital clock.

Edit: I also just saw the Chemist Warehouse are offering a "free crappy gift" with any online purchase (tape measure and level keychain). What more incentive do you need?!?

  • got excited for a min, thought it was another error $89-50!

think free shipping if for order over $99.

can probably price match at big w

If it was a price error my entire family would have been getting new toothbrushes for christmas!

      • why is this toothbrush so good?
        please enlighten me :D

        • It has an LCD screen. 'nuff said…

Actually it's not clear at all what brush this is.
Google Oral B Toothbrush Triumph with Smart Guide and it shows they should have model numbers 9900,9910 etc

        • It's probably no better or worse than other electric toothbrushes. But for me it has encouraged me to brush better, longer.

I guess the difference between this one and cheaper version's is all the additional gumpf that comes with it… seperate remote LCD screen being the key feature, but also comes with travel case, 3 brush heads.

It has 5 "brush modes" which is probably a load of crap in regards to keeping your teeth clean!

The brush pauses every 30 seconds, so I find it easier to keep track of how long I've been brushing. It also flashes red when you press too hard.

I always laughed at the need for an electric toothbrush, but now I gave it I don't regret buying it.

        • In reply to model numbers - I agree it doesn't list one, though as far as I'm aware, there is only one model of oral b toothbrush with smartguide (the LCD screen). I did see on amazon.co.uk that there is an old and a new version, but they are both still the oral b triumph 5000.

Anyway - I guess if you buy it check the product against the cashback claim to make sure it's the same, though I'm quite certain that it is!

        • Regarding the "5 brush modes". I have this brush and find it useful to swap to a less intense mode when doing my gums.

        • Not the best thing for gums to be brushed. I think it's got one for massage though

  • so how much did you pay for it from shavershop?

    • I got it from shavershop for $109.95 delivered, so $59.95 after cashback (which I'm still waiting for!).

It was a definitely a pricing error - I purchased it on Melbourne Cup day, and it was removed from the website the following day!

  • i saw shavershop selling for $149, so $99 with $50 cash back. This is a good deal.

  • Just came back from Chemist Warehouse, the model they have got is Triumph 5000, it does not say anywhere on the box IQ5000. Not sure whether Triumph 5000 qualifies for the cashback offer.

    • I agree - there is nothing about IQ on the box, but I don't think there is an "IQ" and a non-IQ version.

The one on shavershop website where I bought it from is listed as being eligible for cashback (this was the reason for the pricing error when I bought it).

Even the oral-b website doesn't mention IQ… I don't know where this comes from!

Anyway I'm not a rep and I own the toothbrush already - you can decide for yourself if it's worth the risk!

  • repeat

  • Does this have a better battery than the NiCad in the cheap ones?

    • I can't make a comparison - I never owned one with a NiCad battery.

It has a NiMH battery , and seems to last about 1 week morning and evening usage for 2-3 minutes. I've only had it about 3 weeks though

      • The fact that is has NiMH is good, my 1 year old Oral B Vitality only last about 2 brushes now.

David Jones has it online for $139.99…

plus free delivery (I got mine next day) & free gift wrapping if you pay for it with your DJs store card.

    https://www2.davidjones.com.au/shop-online/product-details.j…

    So 89.99

    • I did see that actually, and I would rather pay $1 more and buy from DJ's than Chemist Warehouse.

there's something on the website about not being able to order it?
"We regretfully advise that this item is not yet available to order online due to a late delivery of stock. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. We invite you to visit us instore or online at a later date if you wish to purchase this item."

        They just haven't updated what's written…

I assumed since you could add it to your basket it would be in stock… and it was!

        • Well done - it pays to check!

    • looks like price drops widely, and may drop further I reckon.

    • Comes up as $9.85 delivery for me. :(
      (To Perth)

Just went to David Jones and the price is $200 and doesn't say IQ on the box.

  • seems like one is old model and other is new, but don't know which one is new.

    • the picture on the website is the old model, as far as I know the only difference is that there is only 4 settings on the old one and 5 on the new one.

  • There is no description in Chemist Warehouse

  • just bought one from Chemist Warehouse online, was checking the box in store and Shavershop, exactly the same, so it should be safe to get the rebate whichever store you use

  • bought 2 from shavershop @ $135 each ;-)
