I Paid $999 Last Thursday for Pixel 5. Vodaphone Has Reduced Price to $749. Anything I Can Do about It?

Can I claim price protection or anything like that? I have never done anything like it so please educate me.

I got it on 12 months instalment plan.

  • Pretty sure you could just take yours back for a refund; consumer rights and all that…
    Not sure.
    ah, yeah, nah.

      In the store preferably.

  • Buy from officeworks

  • Sell it on eBay quickly for $875 and split the difference.
I probably wouldn't buy anything exxy that close to BF.

  • 12 month installment plan? Hmmmmmmmm not too sure, but if you pay with a credit card - see if your card has any lower price protections.

If you’re a new Vodafone customer just cancel under the network satisfaction guarantee.

    • I m new customer joined because of ps5 order

    • @jaejae69 but in order to do that you need to cancel within 7 days which was yesterday.

If @V003 wanna have a miracle, whatever happens, has to be today!

THANKS @JAEJAE69 AND @WHIIISKEYY . I GOT 120 CREDIT OVER 12 MONTHS THATS BETTER THAN NOTHING

      • Pretty sure the guarantee is for 30 days from start of service. I only just cancelled myself in late September because voda speeds were atrocious for me.

I can't understand this way of thinking. You purchased it because you needed it now, or it was an acceptable price at the time. Yes it's always nice to have something cheaper, but if you were willing to pay that price yesterday what does it matter what price it is today.

I can understand buyers remorse that someone wants to return something thinking that it's not worth it, but to return something and purchase at a cheaper price? I don't get that.

    • This. And if the price went up, they wouldn't be willing to pay extra. Same logic.

If you paid by credit card check if it has price protection. Latitude 28 degrees has this for 12months and has ready saved my bacon $100's this year.

  • The $747 only applies to 24/36 month installment. In your case it doesn't affect you.

  • That's why you don't rush into these deals unless you need a phone right meow. Any moment JB hifi could have a $500 voucher or Vodafone introduce a new offer.

  • go back and complain… tell them you either cancel the current order or reduce to the lower price

  • Dear Op
    This happens all the time

Havent you ever head of SPECIALS????

Short answer is: bad timing. Too bad. Happens all the time with phones and all technology in fact.

    LESSON:
Expect any technology you buy to fall in price shortly after you buy it.

But of course we all know that, dont we!

  • $250 for a lesson in economics isn't that bad. I've paid more in the past.

    • at least I got 120 credit, but lesson learned

  • nope. just bad luck.
