Been looking for a 12-month Xbox Live Gold Membership from a non-grey market outlet and hoping a deal might come during Black Friday.

Yep. Exactly. Have considered going with something from CDKeys/kinguin/etc, but would prefer to just wait for a sale on a legit subscription card.
I'm thinking of using the $1 for three months offer.
Once that's done, can I still buy Xbox Gold Live (multiple months) and convert it to Game Pass Ultimate (at the standard $15.95 presumably) or will that conversion potential now be gone?
