How Much for a Used EVGA 1070 FTW? (I Can Get One for $200)

Just wondering how much I should buy this for, I could get one for $200.

Is it worth it, over waiting to buy a similar card card like the 1660 super new?

  • I feel that is pretty good but tbh I don't know the second-hand market. Even at $200, how much could it possibly be overpriced by?

  • $200 is a good price for that 8GB GTX1070 (~10% faster than a 6GB 1660S).

Be sure to refresh the TIM on it though as it may have hardened up.

  • Very good price if legit

  • gtx1060s go for 200 on gumtree so if you can grab a 1070 for 200, great!

    *expected performance/hypothetical
**the prices are just a rough guide for your convenience. There are many factors that affect prices for you personally. I expect after 6-12 months, with lockdowns a thing of the past, no more bot-buying by scalpers and miners, pressure from next-gen consoles going mainstream, and inventory stock of the new cards (both high-end and midrange) back to normal. We should eventually see the Used Market settle down to a more suitable levels, probably knocking off AUD $50-$100 from each tier.

Nice. I've picked up a 1070 2 years ago for $360, will be good to offload it for around $300 soon.

    • Sweet ended up getting it to replace my dying 280x, and will wait for a good 1440p ultra card + new system in the coming months.

      • So you ended up getting the GTX 1070 for $200 ?
        If so…. great deal!!

(btw, EVGA makes some of the best cards, so an even BETTER deal. I really like their XC-variants for the quiet fans, great cooling, and compact size. The FTW3 is "better" but it is much more heavier, thicker, and longer, just make sure your case can support it).

Overall a pretty substantial jump in performance from the 2011 AMD HD7970 aka rebranded RX 280x from 2014. Really milked that card hard. You're going from a 720p-1080p / Low-Medium Settings / 30-60fps card. Upto a card that runs 1080p-1440p / High-Ultra Settings / 60+fps card. Well, depending on the game that is.

      • Same, also waiting for a 1440p card to replace it with.
