Yanis Varoufakis on Black Friday 3m45s

I detest Amazon for reasons this man talks about. I do order from Amazon but only when it is an incredibly discounted deal that I am confident is a no/very low profit campaign or a loss leader, and I always ensure I don't pay for shipping - I do like ordering bulky low cost items to achieve that end. Unfortunately I did order something heavily discounted from Amazon on Friday.

What's your take on Amazon?

    Literally who

Based on your activity here I'm pretty sure he won't show up in your suggested views but you may want to listen for 15 seconds so you can come back here and tell me how stupid he is and I am.

I listened for almost a minute. He said nothing of value in that minute, so I turned it off.

Edit - ah, you are thevofa, but changed your name. Your hatred of Amazon, while asking people for the cheapest way to get things done, is hilarious.

  • Bit late there buddy

    • I know. But the take home is the same.

  • What’s the real and deeper problem?

I didn’t watch just googled the guy up.

People aren't getting paid $100k for order picking.

      • 🤣🤣🤣 geez

Not being paid like an educated/skilled professional when he/she can take a thing and put it into a box?

        Nawwww… can't be right.

        • Nawwww… can't be right.

          I know, it's literally oppression.

just from what you wrote its become clear that for you, the struggle is real.
as in you having to do a Pros and Cons list in your mind for things that might conflict with your beliefs …. to justify your purchases or what you did VS that other part of your brain that detest meat eaters, detest Melbourne Cup, and disdain for anyone not on your level of veganism.

Granted, you've seem to stepped away from militant veganism and mellowed out a little bit. I hope thats true and not just a mirage i'm seeing.

    • It's a mirage you're seeing.

      Here you go

      • now all you need is the not your something cow gravatar back

  • Ioannis "Yanis" Varoufakis
Secretary-General of MeRA25, the 'European Realistic Disobedience Front' left-wing political party
    Realistic Disobedience Front LOL

He was Greece's Minister of Finance for about 6 months and unsurprisingly turned Greece into a laughingstock, a deadbeat debtor with zero credibility.

    • Wait, you mean handing out money requires actual money?

      • Of course not. Being financially irresponsible has no consequences. When the money runs dry and our citizens can't eat, our people will start sailing in rickety boats into other countries on their own accord and live off their new hosts.

Yes, all (most?) policy makers don’t get impacted by the policies s/he creates.

          • @SF3: the best part is said policy maker would get to claim that as a 'win' in their resume for their next tenure.

    • Lol. Varoufakis became minister of finance long after the debt crisis. I shouldn't be surprised that someone so ignorant as to not know who he is also doesn't know anything about Greece's economic hardships.

They offer almost every product I want at the cheapest prices and most convenient expedited delivery. They've done something most of their competitors could not. They supported the trio creating more Grand Tour episodes with more specials on the way and included it all for free with Prime.

They do appear to have poor employee working practises but me and you not ordering TLOU2 for $35 isn't going to change that. There are similar issues in other countries too and let's not pretend that most of our Foxconn-produced products doesn't have an element of slave labour, even though they are far better than most other unknown local manufacturers.

It's hard to say this but unfortunately it's a fact of life in everything from the food on your table to clothes to electronics. The difference is 'pickers' in Australia, UK, USA etc have rights and a choice to go work somewhere else. Some of the others may not be so fortunate.

I have no affiliation with Amazon but I've had over 1,000 orders over a decade with them and happy with their service and customer support when something goes wrong. It's popular to bash them nowadays but what they have works well for me. I watched the entire video, I've read the articles and there isn't anything that has changed my mind. Happy to be challenged to rethink.
