Recommendations on Dock for Macbook

I'm looking for some advice on a dock/port replicator for a Macbook. The primary requirement is to connect an external monitor, but it would be good to have power, USB ports for wireless mouse/keyboard.

I've seen some of the following that look to tick all the boxes, including USB-C PD. Anyone had any experience with these, or have any recommendations?

https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B086FNTB6J
https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-7-1-type-c-pass-through-h…

They're all around the same price. The main difference I can see is the Kogan link takes up both USB-C ports on the laptop.

  • Would you want to connect to just one monitor or potentially a second down the line?

    • Just one monitor

I can't speak for the other brands but I've had CHOETECH products before and they did the job.

  • First I would definitely not go with the Kogan one. For all the other 3 seems no difference (little). All I care is the SD card read speed over those hubs so actualIy don't want to try any of above.

I was in the same boat and got the CHOETECH one in your OP. It was recommended on one of the deal here. Using it for more than 4 months and is going well for me. I charge my macbook using the hub and it doesn't get too hot.
