$200 Post Grad Uni Application Fee

Is it just me, or does it seem ridiculous that Macquarie University force applications over to UAC who charge a $200 fee. It’s a deal breaker that they don’t take direct applications when they are begging for work and handing out redundancies like candy.

I have done postgrad study at both UNSW and CSU and never seen a single application fee.

    Shrug?
Somebody has to sort through all the applications.
They probably sacked 6 full time staff to outsource it and make it user pays.
Take your educational dollars elsewhere in the market.

Unless, educational courses aren’t easily comparable and equivalent, and gasp the market is imperfect and people are rent seeking!

    Money well spent I see.

I am happy to pay a small fee for an application (such as $50). I just find a non-refundable fee of $200 very steep to read a CV and check a transcript.

Universities are the new private schools.

  • How about getting a job

I already have an excellent career. PG does not mean full time. I just don’t like giving money away for what could be a rejected application.
