Yes sure, gives them another excuse to be stingy with veggies. The last two times they've been adding 2 slices of tomatoes and cucumber, and have reduced other veggies they add to a 6 inch sub.

    • +8

You do know you can always ask them to add more salads of your choice right. They don't cost anything extra except for avocado and pineapples.

      • -3

A cucumber is not a "salad."

      • +2

They pretend to add veggies when you ask them.

Previously they use to add 4 slices of cheese for a foot long. Now they add only three slices and when asked said that they are using bigger cheese slices.

The only time they add the correct amount is when there is a new person in training :)

Odd, I never had that issue and you should complain to the franchise that the franchisee is undercutting customers. There are actually set formulas and franchise sends down a quality controller once every 3 months for a day to work at the store to make sure they are following the standards.

By default, a foot long should have 4 slices of cheese, 6 cucumbers, 6 tomatoes and lettuce.

The control item that Subway uses to count sales, etc is the number of bread loaves, salad bowls, cookies and paper cups. Vegies and cheese should not be something they stinge on since one customer may want more of a certain veggie/ cheese and another might not want it at all.

    • The best thing .. I let them add everything I want first then I ask them to go all over from the start to add those salad items again. They hate it but I love it.

      • +1

I've legit walked out at one store when they refused.

      • -1

I love that idea. I also like doing the salads from back to front just to mess with their thought process and production line. Start with olives and work your way back to lettuce, then ask for sauce before saying you want cheese.

Yeah really (profanity) with the minimum wage employees that have 0 say in any procedure. What a guy!

    • +1

      Just ask for more.

Certain stores put less meat, say use 3 parts of 4, sort of like 25% saving.

Instead of arguing on the spot, I usually make a complain and get a call back from the area manager to sort things out.

These stores don't just do it a few customers, they do it a lot to achieve the savings and easily get caught.

Have not been to Subway in about 2 years, they lost the plot with their pricing and terrible loyalty program

    • +2

This ^ except it's been more like 5 for me.
It's a real shame because Subway used to be my go to place.

    • +4

Subway were notoriously awful to franchisees. It was near impossible to remain profitable at the prices they were offering. Granted, I haven't paid much attention recently so wouldn't be surprised if all the price hikes are still ending up in Subway Corp's pockets rather than franchisees.

However, yeah, it's not just the pricing that's doubled in the last few years, the menu has gone down the toilet too. It's a shame they couldn't (or wouldn't) make the old model work, as I used to buy a couple of times a week. Now it's couple of times a year.

    • +2

Likewise. They used to stuff the ingredients and used to be value for money. Nowdays they skimp on the ingredients. I also stopped going because they took away some of my favourites toppings a while back.

    after 5pm

because their is nothing better to buy than 10h bread

  • +6

Still love Subway. Not sure why there is so much hate and disinterest lol

    • +3

I think they pretty much nailed it with the above comments.

  • Thanks op

    • are you able to check this in app? I can't :( selected the resto but it's not showing anything there.

  • My subway closes at 5, sad.

  • Uber has 2 for the price of 1 in my area for a lot of restaurants including subway. Was there an ozbargain post I missed?

This seems to be part of a wider promotion "the 12 deals of Christmas" that I can see when opening the subway app (though it does not provide the detail of what the deals are).

Glad to see Subway offering a deal, they do it so rarely compared to their competitors.

    • Yes, today's day 2. Yesterday was a free biscuit with order.

I have an entertainment voucher for a buy 1 footlong get 1 free but my local store never redeems the code so I seem to have an infinite number of complimentary subs.

    • +6

"Here comes the coupon guy again, I wonder when he will just ask us out instead of coming every day"

  • +5

Missed that old days foot long for $7 :(

Some Irish court ruled Subway bread is not bread due to its sugar content, may be different here.

Anyway, its probably less bad than other fast food.

    • +2

I can accept italian herbs and cheese not being real bread but i also accept that it is damn good.

    • Had to look it up: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/01/irish-court-ru…

Judge finds that sugar content of US chain’s sandwiches exceeds stipulated limit and they should thus be classified as confectionery

      That's hilarious

    • +1

White bread at the supermarket has lots of sugar as well.
Maybe it is ok since it is sold at the supermarket.

  • Bring back seafood sensation! T.T

    • Already back. It's not on the website but saw it instore at a few locations.

      • Hmn I didn't see it in Corrimal. I'll check again some time though.

  • Is this targeted offer or only available to specific store locations?

  • +2

Can anyone please explain why it's not showing within the app? Selected the resto but it says no offers at the moment. Am I missing something?

    • Same boat, can't seem to get it to load that price. I've put both subs into my order and it's full price.

      • +1

Same. All I see is the triple points offer

      • May be targeted, and anyway subway app sucks too even if not targeted.

    • Same here m8 nothing in the app and My subway closing 13 mins lol.

  • Deal not available, as far as I can tell.

  • +1

OP change the title to targeted, most of us are not seeing this in app. Or if this available via visiting the store and asking for the deal then mention so.

    • +1

Asked and they said " it will be in the app" " if it's not in the app it's not a deal -_-"

  • It’s $15 everyday after 5 pm at my local

  • +2

No offer as far as I can tell. Bloody either every resturaunt offer it or no one. Blinkin individual deal rubbish

Thanks for the post btw. Nothing against you. Just the deal

  • +1

After I found out that their bread has around 10% sugar.. bread ffs!! It just turned me off getting anything from them.

    Bread normally has between 1-2%.

  • Tired it yesterday and the store i went to said they couldn't seem to scan the code in the app. Did it work for anyone else?

  • +1

So is their 12 days of deals a dud? Banner right at the top of the app and daily emails, yet every store I put in has 'no offers available'
