Cashback tracked if use Aliexpress's app not ShopBack's?

If go to shopback app and click aliexpress it asks me to open aliexpresses app… but it doesnt open the same official Aliexpress app i installed but a watered down version that doesnt show the coupons that the Aliexpress real app shows.

E.g. Shopback app > Aliexpress > Continue to app… opens aliexpress app but if i click Account and look for coupons in the app it is not there like it is if i go through Aliexpress app alone.

I obviously want to see and use my coupons im the aliexpress app AND track shopback cash back.

If i go Shopback app > Aliexpress > Continue to app which opens aliexpress app then close the Aliexpress app and open it directly on my phone again not through shopbacks app… will it track the purchase still?

Simply put.. if i click through the shopback limk to activate the cash back.. can i then go to the store's official app and shop and have it tracked?

  • The "do and don't" page answers your question. Even tells you promo codes not available from shop back will render the transaction ineligible for cashback.

    • Ummm not it doesnt. It mentions nothing about clicking the link (which would be the last link i clicked) and then using the Aliexpress (or whatever shops app) to purchase. It just says make sure it is the last link clicked. It isnt mentioned on the dos and donts page. You are wrong.

And regarding "even tells you promo codes" comment. Every dos and donts page says thst, ebay for example, and they almost always stack. If you cant stack then most times it isnt even worth using cash back services you may as well just use the coupon

      • The instructions are pretty clear. If you need them to be clarified or explained, best you contact them directly

Definitely not true for eBay (in particular).

For example, if you used PRESS20 both Cashrewards and ShopBack yield a $0 cashback.
ShopBack did run a limited deal for a couple of hours on the last day of the eBay promotion where you could stack the code, and still receive cashback. This was an exception and not the rule.

        • This is helpful to know. So in other words one must calculate whether save more from cashback or coupon

And have to always ask on case by case basis or risk not saving the most money. Lame

Cash back providers are essentially just providing their own coupon then. Not as appealing to me

Just read over the do's and don't's beforehand, and make your choice take way.
At the end of the day, this affiliate marketing is cutthroat business.

Cash back providers are essentially just providing their own coupon then

More like a subset, if you are lucky.
