Best Priced Places for Contact Lenses?

Hey folks, pretty new to contact lenses as a glasses wearer of more than a decade. I've tried contacts a few times in the past, but now I'm thinking they're worth the hassle and want to buy some dailies for astigmatism in bulk. My normal lenses are pretty thick, so not sure how well that will translate into contact lenses.

Just wanted to know what are the best priced places for contacts as the most recent thread seems to be about two years ago. Here are some options and comments I've found:

clearly.com.au (Purchase only when on sale as it is more expensive than Specsavers)
daysoft.com
quicklens.com.au (affordable but sign up to newsletter for coupons/discounts)
Specsavers (wait for their deals)
aalens.com (based in singapore, legit stock, best prices, and free sample pairs in each order)
http://buycontactsonline.com.au/

There was this really cool master thread but it's about a decade old so would love opinions and reccs! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/27669

for me unfortunately the contacts i wear are the Dailies Total1 which are probably one of the most expensive on the market :( i used to get them from opsm (they do the save 25% when you subscribe) now i get them from Bupa optical (also a member) but they have an offer where you buy 12 months for the price of 9 months so i end up saving a couple of hundred

The best places are in Asia where prices were about 1/4 of those here. Given that's not particularly easy to swing past and grab some while holidaying atm, I highly recommend Lasik surgery. One of the best thing I ever did and curse that I didn't do it sooner. Contacts are a PITA.

    • What age did you get it done? Last optometrist told me I’m getting too old for it, but haven’t sought any specialist advice yet

I was 39-40. I'd get a 2nd opinion on that about age. It's different for everyone but I've 10 years of perfect no glasses/contacts, but I'm now at the stage of having to squint and hold small writing at a distance. I'm looking into a procedure for that but I was told that'd be the case eventually. Everything else is fine. I also had a friend who got it done and it worked well for about a month - not a happy camper.

        • Thanks, I’m 39 so possibly still a goer. I was about 37 when optometrist advised against- I really should see a specialist

    • i was considering this as well, but i thought your prescription has to be stable for a while before even looking into it, which for me has only happened recently.
How bad was your vision? I'm currently -2.5, -2.25

    • Did you get your Lasik done overseas or locally?

I had a small amount of funds left to claim on my Health Insurance and just ordered via SpecSavers with code SAVE10 to get free shipping and 10% off.
