Buying because good deal for a reportedly decent game.

Also because of I buy enough cheap items individually on Amazon, hopefully it will eat into Bezos' fortune.

    • -1

      $9 at my local target
Oh well Bezos can have my $7

  • There's monopoly deal and bid, which one is considered better?

    • +7

      Deal!

      • +1

    • +6

Haven’t played bid, but can confirm deal is a good game. Only slightly related to the board game, and suffers none of the downsides the board game has.

      • +2

I agree, it is heaps more enjoyable than actual Monopoly board game. It is an excellent stocking filler and fun for kids & adults

  • +3

Protip for anyone who buys this and wants almost endless fun:
Make rent go to your hand instead of staying on the board.
I accidentally did this when playing with friends for the first time and it's made the game way more competitive than the way it's meant to be played.

    • sorry I do not get it. Can you use the rent card again after each action ?

      • +3

No, I'm guessing Stig is suggesting when you use a rent card, the rent card gets discarded but the proceeds from the rent card enter the landlord's hand not their stash on the board. This nerfs the rent card and makes the strategy of "steal everyone's money with a double rent blue rent card" less powerful

    • Rent action cards or money you collect? I didn't think that was possible!

    • +2

But then you'd hit the 7 card limit every time you rent?

      • +1

        Exactly.. I don't get this "pro-tip"

Deployed 1M cash can then screw up people's 7 card limit..?

      • And so you'd have to discard the extra cards (of your choosing) at the end of the round. Involves more strategy than just mindlessly using every rent card.

  • Awsome just ordered

Says delivery today as well. I've noticed that Amazon is now doing flex. (Brisbane)

  • +1

Thanks OP just ordered. Played before, and the dynamics of the game can change with every hand which always keeps it fun.

Someone needs to make an OzBargain game

    • +12

Aren't we playing right now? 🤯

      • +1

I wouldn't trust any of you as the banker

    • Does the game end when we all run out of money?

      • +1

when we all run out of money

This will never happen, since it's based on property, ScoMo will make the money printer go BRRRR

    • I tried but there was no money in it.

  • +1

Can anyone confirm if the property names are based off the US version (Boardwalk, Pennsylvania Avenue, Reading Railroad) or the UK version (Mayfair, Bond Street, Kings Cross Station)?

The photos look like the US version, but it's shipped from AU which traditionally has gone with the UK version.

    • +4

The one I bought back in June from Amazon is UK version (Mayfair, Bond Street, Kings Cross Station)

    • +3

The one I bought two weeks ago from Amazon as part of black friday sales is UK (Mayfair, Old Kent Road, Piccadilly etc)

    • +1

Thanks fpr confirming nekov and williewuboy! I'll get it now!

    • Miner arrived this morning. Can confirm packaging is as shown EXCEPT it is the UK/Mayfair version.

  • +2

Can confirm that this is as good as the original board game at making friends and family mad. Don't recommend if you like peaceful gatherings this Christmas and you have competitive family and friends.

  • I always wondered, does take any property allow for taking the wilds?

does houses/hotels that go into the bank, used to pay rent, can the other player then use the houses/hotels on their property?

    • Yes, you can take a wild card.

No, properties that are played as cash can never go back to being properties.

      • +1

No, properties that are played as cash can never go back to being properties.

Pretty sure properties can't be played as "cash", they're always properties.

        • +3

Agreed, pretty sure is says that you can only play properties into the property section.

Otherwise you could just hide properties you don't want others to get in your cash.

      • -2

what I usually do: when a property is played as cash, the property goes to the other player property section (not hand). I used to play the same as you but in one stage it was very hard to win as we have many properties as cash.

    • What do you do if there is a wildcard stranded? E.g. player pays with properties and then they have a singular wild card left?

      • +3

Wild cards are not worth any monetary value, so they can’t be used to pay rent. Only way to grab them is with the sly deal (steal a property card) or forced trade (trade one property with another)

  • Thank you, perfect timing. Just the game I wanted as a stocking filler!

  • Already have deal … is bid worth getting?

  • just say NO

    • +1

I'll "Just Say No" YOUR "Just Say No"

  • Regret Buying this at Amazon for $7.20 :(

    • +3

      Speeding fine 20c

  • What's the difference between this and the Shuffle Deal game which is $10 at Big W?
    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/shuffle-card-deal-game-assor…

    Apart from the plastic case.

    • Monopoly Deal is the same. The others games in that list are similarly packaged but unrelated.

  • Just got it through Amazon. Back in stock

  • doesn't seem to be available anymore

  • WTF is with Target charging $3 for click and collect if I don't spend $20…

    • Yeah I know, Kmart do it also. That's why I wrote (in store).

    • Even worse when you chose something like a jigsaw puzzle
Although you can see the different items, you cannot choose, and they chose for you at random

So to click and collect a jigsaw puzzle under $20 not only can not chose the image you want, you also have to pay them for the privilege

  • Available again on Amazon, probably won't last long though.

  • Unbelievably fast delivery! I ordered it yesterday and it was delivered to my Brisbane address earlier today.

  • its $9 again.

  • Monopoly Family Fun Pack which includes regular Monopoly and speed dice Monopoly as well as Monopoly Deal is available for $9.98 on the PlayStation store for download until February 4th. Normally $40. You can also just get Monopoly Deal for the regular price of $7.55.

It’s super fun on the PS4 and PS5 playing against the computer players or online against friends.
