Where is the I chose not to play it option?

    • +29

There's a back button on the browser

Chose street. It seems to have been the one they focused on in the limited trailers I've seen.

Have to admit, the graphics on ps5 look kinda shitty though the fps seems stable enough.

    • +1

Because it's running in back compat mode, PS5 patch isn't coming for a few months unfortunately

  • +1

Steam crashed when that thing launched 🤣

  • +1

It'll be another week or two until I have time to play but intend to do nomad my first play through.

  • +1

Play through for me is going to be Street, Corpo and then Nomad.

4th option: Have you receive the game yet from your preorder????

    • +1

Buy it on GOG and then refund it when yours comes.

    • +2

Preordered for PC from JB on Monday, arrived at 8.45 this morning. I did pay the extra $1 for express shipping though lol

  • +1

I chose Nomad, most likely going to start again and choose street. Nothing against nomad, just feels like street is the more cyberpunk choice.

Corpo once Amazon decides to send out my copy. Got plenty of games to play in the meanwhile.

    • same boat as you, their listing for the PC version says the game is in stock though. makes me kinda sus.

So, is this game really the buggy dumpster fire that a vocal, growing minority on the Internet is claiming it is?

Even the top Steam reviews are showing a growing number of negative reviews related to lack of optimisation, crashes, graphical glitches, etc. It doesn't look to be just the typical launch-day technical issues, as there are numerous, widely-reported story progression/game-breaking bugs as well, and even professional reviewers are giving it a pretty thorough trashing at the moment.

Some of the glitches, graphical issues and bugs look pretty severe.

    • No. I played on pc yesterday and only saw 1 glitch: a mobile phone floated near a guys hand, instead of in it. Otherwise all good.

      • What kind of hardware are you running on?

        • +1

I5 8600k, gtx1080ti with latest video drivers. I’m guessing they are patching this game quite frequently as I’m getting nowhere near the amount of glitches some of these reviews make it out to be.

Sometimes the audio voice of someone who is really far away, sounds like their right next to you. Once again, small trivial things which have little to none impact on the game. I’m guessing in 12 months time this game will look very different tho (in a good way).

          • @DiscoJango:

            I5 8600k, gtx1080ti with latest video drivers.

            And what kind of settings/resolution/FPS?

I was really to surprised to see this reviewer mention he's running the game on a Ryzen 5950X and RTX 3080 and even then, with DLSS turned off, he averaged 30FPS with the game frequently dipping below that figure. That's at 1440P with everything on Ultra settings. With DLSS on, he gets a normal enough framerate (50-60FPS in most areas) but the motion-blurring when driving and wierd shimmering effect on wet surfaces/rainy streets is a noticeable degradation in visual quality.

It seems like AMD GPU users are truly screwed for the time being as some kind of DLSS support is a year off according to their best estimates.

@Gnostikos: 1080p resolution, every single graphic setting at its maximum option. obviously i cant enable settings such as ray tracing as my video card doesnt support it.

outdoors with heaps going on, its 40-50fps. indoors its 60 + fps.

the only 2 options i turned off because they hurt my eyes is the film grain and the motion blur.

  • Still waiting for my delivery from gamesmen eBay

    Corpo for the win!
I spent 30 mins customising my characters appearance (20 mins spent on the important thing!)

    • +2

That's about ten minutes more than the corpo story went for!

      • +1

        Haha true

And apart from some conversation options here and there, not too much corpo specific stuff. I'm not that far through yet though

        • +1

From what I have read, the life you choose just gives you a little bit of different prologue to get you into the game. Makes no difference on the actual story line once you start.

  • I chose street initially but felt my character was ugly so changed and did nomad.

At this stage I'd say street offers alot more custom dialogue options but that may change later.

    • Confirmed true, as you speak to more suits and the real deal shit in the mid - late game, the corpo dialogue really helps you in your favour a ton.

Seems your background helps at different stages of the game rather than overall as you start from the bottom and go up.

    Riff-raff, street rat, I don't buy that,
    If only they'd look closer…

Would they see a poor boy? No siree they'd find out there's so much more to me.

  • I ran through all three, just to see how they all played out. Agree that there are only minor dialogue differences in-game, depending on which background you chose.

I've noticed a few things that were odd eg. pedestrians just 'appearing' out of nowhere, plus one 'Jesus pose' person standing with both arms fully outstretched. Reminded me of LOTRO.

I think a more interesting poll would be: Did you choose default, big or small?

    • +1

Big, it's a fantasy world, default would be too close to reality.

      • +1

for me, the default is the fantasy :(

        • +2

          I'm sorry for your loss.

    • +1

I chose small because I'm sick of being so big.

    • Chose small hoping for a funny moment of someone calling it out.
Hasn't happened yet but I'm only 12 hours in.
