cascade199

Hi,
I'm in the market to get a new chair and spoke to the sales rep to see if they can do the sale on Cascade again. They have just had 600 Cascades arrive and are willing to do an OzBargain exclusive again and run the chairs out for us at $199. Includes Free Metro Shipping as well.

Those who own this chair how is it? Should I go for this or a titan chair from secretlabs?

    • +3

Also interested in feedback from owners.

    • Definitely keen to hear about peoples experience with this chair.

My review in the last thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/9350034/redir
Also photos further up the comment thread :)

TLDR; Its a great chair, im 100kg and its super comfortable and ergonomic. 10 year warranty for this chair.

If you want a gaming/bucket chair, go for Secretlabs. But be aware the warranty for that chair is only 3 years (or 5 years if you share a photo of your chair on their social channels).

      • I see no head rest is that correct?
I nearly bought a gaming one from OW.
I want it for the study, daughter needs it, have been using the dining chair ATM.
Thanks for the link to your last review…

        • It looks exactly like the picture, so no headrest.

    • While decent for the price, I'm not especially tall (169cm) but find doesn't -quite- lift up high enough. I've also found with the shape and stiffness of the back support, it can dig in and cause some lower back/hip pain. It was a better option than my dining room chair during lockdown though!

      I prefer the Boags one…

imo a very overrated chair, does not feel that comfortable and the side arm rests are very poor quality.

    • I bought one just before lockdown and I find it super comfortable, almost same quality as the Steelcase chairs we have in the office! I find the adjustable arm rest very helpful - prevents me from slouching. Only con for me is that I have to put a cushion for my back to push me a bit forward cause I have shorter legs.

Its better for taller persons. Arm rest feels kinda small. Doesnt really go high but the cushion is pretty good

Purchased from the previous deal… great chair for the price - can't complain. Very sturdy and cushion is thick and comfortale. Got my moneys worth already I think!

It was a pain trying to find a decent chair for under $300 as so much out there and different opinions/reviews. Glad I went with this one in the end… would buy again in a heartbeat at $199.

Got one from the last deal, happy with the price. Wouldn't pay any more though. Lumbar support is lacking.

The seat cushion is okay, I'm around 70kg/175cm and when I sit on it I can just feel the base through the cushion.

So what about the Ikea alternatives? Acknowledging they don't have adjustable armrests.

    JÄRVFJÄLLET for $249

    MARKUS for $229

    • Depending on just how adjustable the armrests are, they can be worse than having none at all. I'm curious as to how the Cascade ones are, although I think I'll skip the chair anyway because it seems a little bit too short.

  • I bought in the last deal in November and got delivered this week. I have been using it for 2 days now. So far so good 👍

I was using dining chair until now and started to get back pain but it’s been good for last few days. Those who want to compare this with other chairs; just remember this has 10 yr warranty. 😀

  • It is pretty for this price.

p.s. sitting on this chair to type this comment.

  • Is headrest necessary?
IDK, I always sit on dinning chair. I wanna go on a healthier way now

    • IMO a headrest on an office chair isn't necessary. This chair will be a massive upgrade over a dining chair. Your back will thank you.

Buying this chair was stressful for me as I was unsure if it would work for me. I'm pretty sensitive to my chairs and to not be able to test a chair before buying just adds to the uncertainty. In the end bought it anyway and hope this simple review can help those who are in my position.

Delivery time did took a while. I order in the last deal and just received it. The package weighed 15kg. Setting it up wasn't hard once you've figured out which screws are the drawing referring to. I didn't fit the arm rest as I'm not a fan of armrests. It gets in the way with how I work.

I was on my dining chair and stool before and realised back was getting uncomfortable as many here mentioned. As soon as I switched over to this, it felt a whole lot better. A few concerns before buying was

    1. The cushion's comfort
    2. Low back rest
    3. Fixed back rest

With comfort, I have no problem. Size of the cushion is a big thing in ergonomic and this is big enough to support me all the way to the back of my knee when I sit all the way in. I'm 180cm tall for info. I am average sized and I also have no problem with the width. nothing is hanging out. Dimensionally, the cushion is approximately 50cm x 50cm. Minimum height of the chair is 45cm and maximum is 50cm.

Back rest height is about 52cm. At the moment, the tip of the back rest is right at the middle of my scapula. Would have been nice if it is higher so it covers the whole shoulder. But it is $200 after all. I get what I pay for. Lumbar support is adjustable so that's a big plus.

Back rest is fixed is probably the biggest drawback for me. But again, it is $200 chair. Fortunately, the tilt is quite comfortable. Pivot point is close to the knee. So if you can imagine, sitting all the way in and sitting low will give you a bit of tilt naturally, which I find quite comfortable. If I prefer a bit more lean, I'll use an additional cushion at the back.

Overall, the chair is good for $200, considering these chairs can easily go north of $500. Hope this helps.

  • Interested but it's charging me $20 extra for shipping insurance, which I can't remove,
to metro address costing $219 not $199.
How do you get it $199?

Edit: oops, just need to go to Checkout and it can be removed from there.

  • This or the Buro Metro?

    • I'd prob go with the Buro if prices are similar.

      • why burro? It's just 50 bucks more expensive.

        • Buro cushion looks thicker.

I think it is no deal for 3+ month delivery time.

    • -1

Agree that would kill the deal, wheres the 3 months on the delivery page? Cant see it for the looking.

    • +2

Where are you seeing 3+ months?
Says 2-4 days on shipping info?

    • +3

Hi guys, the Cascade Chair is in stock and ready to ship following our standard delivery timeframes listed on the website. Not sure what 3+ months is based on.

      Thanks,
      Epic Office Furniture
